    horn and radio

Horns go bad all the time, work on that last. Which radio, VHF? You need to take a look at the back of the radio and find the power and ground wires, probably red and black. There is a chance that the red wire has an inline fuse along the wire run. Where is the radio, under the helm, flush mount...

Need new cabin cushions for 2003 Grady White 2088

There are four cushions for the 208 cabin: Port and starboard 'soft' cushions. Each side has different dimensions. The over the porta potty 'hard' cushion. This is a heavy stiff bottom cushion that sits over the space where the porta potty is ( or was) The fourth cushion is similar construction...

    Transom Leaking

It may be a bit late. It is possible that the coring is soaked or that the glass has delaminated leaving a space for water to collect. When you added the brace and tightened the bolts, you squeezed the transom and the resulting oozing water had to go somewhere.

    Starting

I concur, you probably left off a ground wire, perhaps the short one that ties the two negative terminals to each other.

    Transom maintenance

You must have better luck than I do, I have often broken off SS screws on motor parts, like brackets, anodes, ground lugs etc.

    Electrical problem of the day

Try a test lamp with an incandescent bulb and see if it lights when the test tip is touched to the 12 feed lead. Then move along to the terminal f the lamp and see if it lights. Bad grounds are tough to isolate using a DVM.

    Electrical problem of the day

The high voltage is measured wit the fixture n the ON state would indicate a bad ground.

    Transom maintenance

If they used SS bolts and washers on aluminum plate without some sort of sealant as an insulator , there will be corrosion issues . Although the new bolts and plates looks nice and clean, I would rather see sealant ooze to insure sealant was applied.

12V Circuit Breaker Tripping for Fresh Water Pump

There may be a problem with the switch. It may have something internal that shorts the power to ground when in the off position. I assume the switch is a console mounted type like a rocker switch. In any case, if possible pull the connector with the wire that feeds the pump and try touching it...

94' ish 209 escape access hatch

The spec for the access plate is the opening size not the outermost measurement. In your case it looks like a 6 inch model. Here is a link to the Beckson catalog pages for pry out plates. https://www.beckson.com/files/deckplate/180924_deck%20plate.pdf Finding white should be easy. Colors are...

    Fuel tank sender gasket

Measure the diameter of a circle that lines up with the holes. If that measurement is 2 1/8 inch your gasket is a standard SAE 5 hole version. There are various other size mounts for KUS senders ( including SAE). If you have your sender model number, KUS should be able to give you the gasket specs

282 Sailfish - Water in fuel!?!?

Years back I left the gas cap on the gunnel off. We have a horrific rain storms for a couple of nights so to cover all bases, I pulled the sender and pumped out a few gallons from the bottom of the tank. Absolutely no water! My point is that assuming water doesn't pool on top of the fill...

282 Sailfish - Water in fuel!?!?

A few years ago, I was asked to look at a boat that was recently launched for the season but broke down during the first trip. The motor stuttered and died multiple times and then wouldn't start at all. It was a small pontoon with a 90HP Merc. I pulled the water separator out and dumped its...

    Yamaha 115 4 stroke sputter/stalling. Help!

Good plan. One comment though; The clear bowl on the gas filter (motor mounted) should not be full. If it is, you may have an air leak somewhere. It is normally almost full. Not seating the plastic bowl correctly is a common issue especial since the bowl rims tend to distort out of round. The...
