Swim platform on a 228 seafarer

FLWhaler, go to YouTube and you can find many, many videos about doing the job your looking at. Any of the tutorials about recoring hatch covers or cockpit hatches is all the same.

Swim platform on a 228 seafarer

I used 1/2 inch wood blocks, 3 in x 3 in. I bought the wood from Lowes in their special cut section. I used polyester resin from Lowes hardware and cloth from there also.

Swim platform on a 228 seafarer

My 228 had the full width swim deck and it had the same problem. I discovered it the same way you did, looking to see why my ladder bolts were loose. I removed it, turned it over and started drilling 1/4 inch exploratory holes in the core. I wound up replacing the entire core.

    Sea star hydraulic hose replacement

They usually run through the factory installed rigging tubes, but depending on the age of your boat, a previous owner could have replaced the hoses before and could possibly have rerouted them. Check the hull layout diagram for your boat provided by Grady and it will show the location of the...

    Debby

Debby is a nasty little bitch. The south jetty here on the Venice inlet was damaged a year or more ago by hurricane Idalia. The jetty rock was finally replaced awhile back and just last week they finally got around to putting asphalt paving on it. It's a real popular fishing spot and tourist...

Completed trip through North Channel, Canada

It seemed you did a good job of dodging the bad winds. Was there ever a time in that trip that you had to slow down or come off plane because of water conditions.

    What is this secret table?

Are there any table leg sockets on the boat with the same spacing as those on the mystery piece?

    What is this secret table?

With the looks of that well finished walnut, I would guess that is a game table of some sort.

Speakers where you drew the circles are gonna take an awful beating when you are washing blood off the deck.

    Sunglasses

Yes, they are glass polarized gray lenses with my prescription in them. They are even no-line bifocals so I can see to read and tie monofilament.

    Sunglasses

Like KY Grady, I have a pair of Maui Jims with my prescription in them. They really make a difference on the water. The one thing I notice is to see the MFD screen details, I need to be pretty much looking straight on. If I am looking at even a 20 degree angle to the side, the image goes away.

    Gas filling tube clogged?

Keywest, this link describes how those things work. Some of the newer systems that include the charcoal canisters and such may have caps that are more advanced than those described here. https://forums.iboats.com/threads/perko-vented-gas-caps-%E2%80%93-how-they-work-and-a-couple-of-tips.769236/

    Steering Issue

You haven't said if you have the electric steering or hydraulic steering. You need to inform the group what brand motors and what model motors to get some relevant responses.

    best anchor for freedom 192

If youre serious about anchoring, get rid of the rubber coated chain. It increases the buoyancy of the chain, hence its effectiveness is lessened. One option for the smaller Gradys is to cut out the mouth of the anchor locker under the hatch so you can put a larger plow type or claw type...

    Freshwater filter

After bleaching the tank as described by Doc Stressor, put a section of flexible hose with no fitting on the end onto your garden hose and push it down the fill tube till it is in the bottom of the tank and turn the hose on full. That will stir things up good inside the tank and force the junk...

    NMEA2K Backbone placement

Any chance you have a mouse that took a liking to the Suzuki cable. Is it a big job to pull it out and check it? Set up your game camera looking at some goodies in the cockpit of your boat at night to see if you have a squatter.
