I have the same issue - 180 Fisherman but I list to port...drives me nuts. on plane, I can run in a true straight line but I still sometimes have that list to the port side. I have not water or rot in the boat.

So here is a little before and after. I havent sanded yet as it hasn't cured. I havent even been able to buff/wax...stupid weather in NE! Trying to be in the water May 4/5. Got the Spectrum color but man...my deck is faded!

I stand corrected, thanks wrxhoon. It is the same patch color. I’m up in Boston...the temps are pretty extreme from cold to hot. I’m assuming more dings will show up at some point. I’ll take that advice and use a small brush to try and mimic the non-skid. Will be ordering the patch kit...

On your 180, do you notice a list or heavier side while riding? My port side sits a bit heavier in the water... I have a 2001 with a 130 2 stroke, the only time I get some porpoising is when I have to many people in the stern...just shift the weight! Small boats tend to have smaller "issues"...

I was using 800...but really looks like I need to get a 1200, 2000 & maybe 3000. Going to West Marine tonight to get a couple of things. One of the pits that I gelcoated over has a pit in it...need to fix that up a little with some more paste. Should be good to go though after that!!! Ian

Seasick - the gelcoat broke clean and there is no damage to the fiberglass! the depth of the ding is less than a quarter of an inch... No to worried about the color of the gelcoat...as long as it is somewhat close to the original color. the ding is about 3/4 the size of an male adult pinky...

The key needs to be sticking out a bit. Its a pain in the #ss to get in and out...make sure when your putting it back in, its even on both sides. Also make sure that when you take it out your not dinging your drive shaft. That would be bad :) Ian

Thanks a lot. I have talked with a couple of knowledgable people about it and done some YouTube video watching. Im confident that I can get the job done and make it look decent. I have a couple Gel Coat dings that need to be fixed...so im sure that ill get better and better at fixing it...

Thanks! How about sanding it down? A little nervous about that part. Once sanded, do I just wax and polish to get back to the shine the rest of the hull has? And yes, I am getting Spectrum Color 2oz from my Grady Dealer. Ian

Hi Everyone, Almost summer (erhermmmm I mean boating weather!) here in New England. While cleaning up my 180, I noticed a puncture in the gel coat. Looks to be a surface thing only and hasnt really gotten to wet... The puncture must have come from a rock or something bouncing off the hull...

The other thing I am quite perplexed at is how I managed to break off the speedo tube and plastic nut from the section of lower unit it is screwed into. I was able to get a little of the plastic nut out from inside the screw hole. I dont want to strip the rest of the threading inside the screw...

This is great! Thank you. I guess I shouldnt be worried then seeing the oil dripping in the exhaust housing and down through the prop. My lower unit isnt leaking which is a good thing. I am still going to take the prop off and check for fishing line in the seals...I will probably end up...
