Big rollers and 10 second periods are not a problem . When you have rollers coupled with 20 knot winds and 5 second periods they stand up. That's the time I wish I had a younger body. I don't use mine for entertaining, just fishing 2- 4 anglers .

In my opinion one of the best props available and especially suited to Mercs . I have a Yamaha saltwater series 17" . I have a 17" and 18" Enertia that I'm going to try on my 250 Yam when i get around to get the correct prop hub. I want to compare the 2 props and i will report results.

You can replace it with a gas strut but you may have to reposition at least one of the mountings . If you prepared to do that you need a 20-30 lb strut and you can work out the length depending on how you will mount it. Looks like halfhitch has the same boat with same tank and his was gas strut...
