My buddies last Charter rig was a 26 Hybrid Yellowfin with a Rhodan and all Garmin. I personally wouldn't want the Garmin troll motor yet - Look around at the guys using there boat to put food on the table. It's always a Rhodan/Minn Kota.

I flushed mine with a mild acidic solution followed by a base. The motor pissed calcium. Lol

How was the scale in the motor when you removed the thermostats? I had to descale a 115 Yamaha and the 225 on my Grady. The passages needed to be cleaned up.

Take a look at the Rhodan's as well. I have a few charter captains I know that love them on the large rigs the run.

To many variables with limited info. Pull the bleeding instructions off their site and work through it. If you can grab another set of hands it works much better.

I would put that Contender above the Grady on quality but that's just me. They do a great job with their customers during the build process as well. My nephew does warranty work for Grady. He hasn't noticed any increase in claims or new issues. I think the issues will pop up in a couple...

I just reinstalled a 74dv last week and forgot about another issue. They used a real cheapo inline fuse holder on my model. When it was on the Grady I had to fix the holder as it was losing power randomly while under way. Just another thing to try incase its not software related.

That unit has a POS connector in the back. I have hit waves and the unit shut off. Make sure the power connector is clean and seated and that wire has clean power/good ground.
