    Replacement of bolster cushions

Kirk, when you look at the bottom of the bolster cushions you should see a brass grommet every couple of feet or so. You will not be able to see any screws due to the foam settling over them. You just have to feel around with a #2 phillips screwdriver in the grommet hole, at all different angles...

Have a different aftermarket Gil bracket made with more flotation, if you want more freeboard at rest.

Transom Rebuild - follow my journey

...and if that design doesn't change, I think they are going to start seeing reduced sales. You can only ride on past reputation so long and then you have to prove you are comparable or better than the competition.

Be careful what you wish for...

Unless you have lost grip on the rod as you try to save yourself from going overboard and the rod is pulled to the extention of the lanyard at which point you probably could not reach the reel. It's just an awful thing to think about that happening to yourself.

Be careful what you wish for...

It's not the first time I have heard of that happening. Guys will get rigged up with a stand-up harness and put a lanyard to their rod because they are concerned about losing their rod, but fail to put a lanyard from the harness to the boat. Once you are in the water with even a mediocre fish...

    Finally!!

I see that Grady ran a 13 3/4 X 17 prop for that test. That explains a lot about the RPMs that I'm getting with a 15 1/4 dia.

    Yamaha 4.2 L. bad starters

I sold my Grady White 205 about two years ago. I had repowered it with a Yamaha mechanical F225 4.2L that was manufactured in late 2017. The guy that bought the boat called yesterday and said the starter had failed and wanted to thank me for getting the 6-year warrantee set up. Yamaha paid for...

    Scammer in our midst

The guy wants me to communicate through a private email instead of through this site and then he tries to get you to send money to him. He doesn't have the items. He is replying to multiple "wanted" posters, always saying the person on the other end of that email has what you are looking for...

    Rebuild or Replace

Just because the engine is hard starting and doesn't idle well doesn't mean you need to rebuild the engine. Those two symptoms are related and most probably can be straightened out with a complete tune-up by a genuine knowledgeable Merc mechanic. It won't be cheap, but nothing compared to...

    NizPro ECM Flash

Chrisk, this is what the throttle plate looked like at full throttle when I removed the silencer on my 4.2L Yamaha 225. When I saw that, I figured I had a problem with my linkage or my binnacle because I could not adjust it to go to full throttle, or in-line with the bore. Thats when I took it...
