    '04 330 Express Repower

I had similar thoughts with the f150's when I replaced them with df200's. After firing them to near silent idle; engaging the silky smooth single binnacle control; running at cruise and being able to talk without raising our voices; jumping on plane, crazy good fuel economy... I have not wished...

    GW rod/cup holders...

Buyer beware. You get what you pay for from Amazon. Last I checked, if you want 316ss, you'll need to buy somewhere else. However, if cleaning and polishing your cup holders regularly gives you pleasure, Amzon has just what you are looking for. ;)

    New Suzukis

Skunk, to see each engine's hours, is that attained by setting the gauges to where one displays "port" and the other "starboard" in the upper left corner and then scrolling to hours? I like keeping my engine hours even and it bugs me that Suzuki doesn't display hours in tenths. Right now both...

    New Suzukis

My tanks were not empty and mine were set up fine. I'm not certain if that is a dealer requirement or not. As for the displays, check out some of the videos on YouTube for the SMG4. Once you understand the programing logic, the set-up isn't too bad. Check out my thread on the 2005 Islander with...

    Bimini 306 Tow

Yes, a properly equipped one will. 4x4 will be a must for low range. The 5.0 or 3.5 Ecoboost is a must also. At the minimum it should also have the tow package or ideally a max tow package. Lastly, the tongue weight of the trailer should be no more than 700 lbs.

2005 Islander with new df200 ap's and magical props

Ah. Didn't know it was plastic. They are set "straight" but should probably be turned a little. Yes, AP's. Single lever throttle control in the slop is worth the price of admission IMO.

2005 Islander with new df200 ap's and magical props

Skunk, did you remove the "fin" off your engine zinks? I planned to cut mine off. Word is it shouldn't matter.

2005 Islander with new df200 ap's and magical props

I didn't see that detail in your thread. Did you end up leaving your engines aligned that way? Did you encounter any drawbacks?

2005 Islander with new df200 ap's and magical props

If I get zero improvements on anything at this point, I will have nothing to complain about. Performance so far has been exceptional across the board. A lot of homework went into this set up. Hopefully it will help others get their Zukes dialed in. How do you know it's fresh water? No foam?

2005 Islander with new df200 ap's and magical props

It's simply toe. However toe in/out is often misinterpreted. If the the engines are aligned where the distance between the center front of the lower units is the same as the distance between the prop shafts = neutral. From neutral, bring the prop shafts ¾" closer together.

2005 Islander with new df200 ap's and magical props

Oh, one more piece of knowledge from Ken that looks to be dead on. I've not heard this from anyone before, but it seems to have helped. He suggested Grady's tend to like the prop shafts ¾" closer than neutral. This enabled me to have a broader trim range and better cornering without losing bite...

2005 Islander with new df200 ap's and magical props

I've come to the conclusion that the Merc Eco Enertia is absolutely magic for this set up. Check out these numbers: If that wasn't enough, check out how ridiculous this is! On plane at 12.6 mph!

    4 Blade Prop on 222

That isn't nearly as entertaining! We will get there eventually.

    4 Blade Prop on 222

It depends on the boat and your needs. He has once advised a 4 blade for a different boat, but I couldn't get the engine high enough to make it work to its potential. Current boat he advised 3 blades and was spot on.

    4 Blade Prop on 222

I had at least 3 "experts" tell me Ken's suggestion for my boat was wrong. Turns out Ken was right. He knows his stuff!

    Uh, I own one. :)

    2000 272 Sailfish Motor Size

You left out the part about the 2002 270 looking identical to the older ones, except they had the full length hull.;) I can also tell you from first hand experience, the 2005 270 specified hull weight is legit. I also thought of another reason the hull weight went up. I'll just say it goes back...

    2000 272 Sailfish Motor Size

I'm not one to be a conspiracy theorists, but typically when a company is elusive about why something changes is indicative of a liability issue. I wonder if GW beefed up some hulls that were a little under built, but can't say that? Not that the earlier builds were defective, but maybe internal...

    Compression test readings-work order

Have you done a seatrial? If the boat prop is original and not reworked or damaged, the boat should be able to hit the wot numbers in the performance report. Grady will email this to you. If it doesn't, then your compression test isn't lieing.

    Trailer tires

Has anyone tried the Green balls from Costco? Reviews look good. I know it is a Chinese/Taiwanese tire, but so are the Loadstar's I've been running for over 10 years on different trailers. I soak mine in 303 and keep them out of the sun. In the winter I lift the trailer to take the weight off...
