Yea Man!! Awesome fish, congrats. It has been so windy here, from the East too, I have not been out in over a month. I have the DTs! So j 8) ust to get on the boat, I washed it today!
I have a 2007 Marlin. The CINC (my wife) and I took it from Panama City Beach to Islamorada in the Keys, down the West Coast of Florida and stayed on the boat 4 nights on the way down, and two weeks on the way back up. We were comfortable, but it depends on how tall you are and how tall the...
So we have been trying for a couple weeks to get offshore, 28+, for grouper, mangrove snapper and vermillion snapper. Weather has been stormy and windy, plus I have been out of town visiting quite a bit these past 2 months. So we had a favorable weather forecast for the morning, and forecasted...
From what you said it may be that your linkage is either loose, or out of adjustment. One other possibility that happened to me two years ago. I was having a difficult time going in and out of gear, particularly reverse, and keeping the port engine throttle at the RPM I wanted. after...
First thing I recommend is you make sure your thru hulls for the live wells are closed. then if they are closed, check for leaks around the thru hulls. Since your boat is an older version, I would also check your overboard drain thru hulls are properly sealed. Well after your boat was made...
After having to deal with the sun damage to my Sailfish vinyl, I had covers made for all my bolsters, seats, helm, and companion way entrance. Well worth the relative cost compared to replacing bolsters, gauges, hinges, etc.
I think it could be the forklift or hoist. Here is another question: Do your trim tabs auto retract when you turn your motors off? Mine do on my Marlin. Perhaps it is not retracting properly and the hoist and/or the forklift is getting to it.
Here are some other considerations: How is the boat berthed? On a trailer, lift, in dry storage? I am wondering if the bunks on however you store the boat are your culprit. Are they Bennett trim tabs? If none of the possible issues I mentioned are not the problem, I would call Bennett and...
Federal red snapper opened in Gulf waters 1 June. We planned for two days, the weather lier forecast good seas for 3 & 4 June so we planned to go both days, and we did. Weather was pretty good Friday, seas 2 feet or less but the wind was from the East. You guessed it, "wind from the East...
The winds, while not perfect, finally allowed an offshore bottom fishing trip. We ran out about 40 miles to fish the lumps and 3X5's. We were targeting scamp and mangrove snapper. Only got one keeper scamp, but we got into the big Amberjack. Got 12 big ones, kept 1 each, and we caught some...
I have a Garmin GHC 10 on my Marlin. It does pretty good except in a quartering following sea. It over corrects. It does interface nicely with my 4212.
