My first boat was a 1987 Mako 17' with a bimini. I ran it mostly with it down, as I found it to be a pain when fishing because of the rear stays. I don't think the Grady's have the stays. I plan on putting it in a slip next year at our local yacht club. So I'll be hanging out on it a lot more.

Hello all, in my search for a 2000+ Adventure or Seafarer (prefer Seafarer) I see a lot of them with just the Bimini Top. How do they do underway? Do they take the wind or must they be stowed? I really want a hard top but the bimini's are definitely cheaper. Thank You, John.

Besides the obvious extra room is there a advantage / disadvantage between the 2 boats? Also most came with a Yamaha OX66 are these good motors? I'm coming from an old Mercury 90HP on a Mako and jest want a reliable motor. I'm looking in the 20K range and that puts me in the 2000-2004 MY boats...

Thanks, I had to scale down my purchase and I am now looking at 208's in the 10-15k range and this puts me into pre 1993 v2 huls.

Is there a big difference between the old hulls and the newer sea v2 hulls on the 20 footers?

I was in the same boat( no pun intended). The only true way is what Capt Chris said, keep checking the used boat sites, you will eventually come up with an average. NADA values are not even close..don't bother. Check the Salty Dog, Ebay, Iboats, there are a ton of used sites. Pick up some used...
