    It can be a fight. Amber jack will almost pull your arm out of the socket if you don’t know what you are doing. Sometimes we have to cut their throats to get them under control. I am a little wiser in my old age. Lol. I don’t shoot the amberjack unless I have help. Gotta check for sharks first...

    These grouper we get with hook and line anywhere from 70ft to about 180 ft. Depending on the time of year. I also spear them while scuba diving.

    We cheat. Lol. We deep drop into 850 to 1000ft of water with an electric reel. We have special rigs with glow lanterns and glow rubber shrimp. Takes about 10 to 12 lbs of weight. Looks like a huge sabiki rig. His eyes suffered decompression from coming up from 875ft.
