    Great day fishing

Awesome looking fish. They kind of look like the grouper that’s we catch here in fla. How deep do you fish? Is that in the pacific or on a lake?

    Those kill switch thingies?

Just make sure when you are on the bow pulpit, the wind is at your back. As for the kill switch, I think they are useless in a boat like ours. Not sure how we will fall overboard while at the helm of a cabin boat. I disconnected mine so it could never be a problem.

    Need a plan

Just a suggestion. Lower unit is easy to drop. Instead of dragging the boat for many miles, dropping the lower and taking it to a mechanic may be easier. Installing is not hard either. Could also save you some $. Would suggest new complete h20 pump kit, driveshaft seals, and shift seals. New...

    Need a plan

A lot of times when mechanics say they changed the water pump, all they changed is the impeller. The plastic housing warps sometimes letting air leaks into the system. The plates and the cups sometimes get sand scratches the wear the impeller out prematurely. Any small grooves in the plate will...

    Need a plan

Is the motor getting hot? 3 inches won’t make a difference. Blow compressed ari backwards through the p hole. A small piece of trash can clog it in a heartbeat. The clogged p hole will not stop the engine from cooling correctly. If you see any steam Out the p hole, then the impeller is toast.

Seafarer 226 prop size with 200hp 2 stroke

Bow lift makes a huge difference in the performance. Yamaha saltwater series 2 was the ticket for mine. Gained 5 mph with the same pitch over non bow lifting props. A lot smoother ride also.

Fish finder/ GPS turns off when starting engine

Maybe a wire wiggle test will help you. Turn on electronics and start wiggling all the wires at battery, switch, panel etc. see if they interrupt

    OX66 Oil drip/ leak

Just looked at the pics. Your motor does not have the rear tube. The 2.6l has the tube in the rear. Yours is a 3.1l. Different tank.spray the tank n fittings with brake cleaner to dry it well n you should be able to pinpoint the leak.

Fish finder/ GPS turns off when starting engine

Voltage drop will kill the electronics for a sec and reset. I’ve replaced a lot of battery switches when electronics or radio will go off when engine is started or trimmed.

Fish finder/ GPS turns off when starting engine

Sounds like a bad ground, loose cable, bad battery cable end, or an internally corroded battery switch.

    Sailfish 27.5

The air would be traveling from the top down (Out of the hole)to release the water from the compartment. Probably Won’t see much. If it is a release vent.

    OX66 Oil drip/ leak

That is a tube to gather water drops, dirt etc. tube could be dried up and won’t seal or cap has a crack in the rubber n tie strap won’t close the crack enough. There is also a fill tube behind the tank that could leak at the fitting. If you clean the tank with brake cleaner, it will dry the...

    No Kill Switch OMC 1994

Do you have a pic of the key switch. Some of them have a horseshoe tab that fits over the key entry to keep it pushed half way in. Horseshoe acts as a kill lanyard.

"93 Tournament 225 Steering Helm and Cable

So true. Not many mechanics even grease this hidden fitting. They just don’t think about it I guess since the grease starvation problem takes so much time to sneak up on you. Lol.
