    Walk-around vs true fishing boat

Do you plan on overnights? Who will you be 'cruising' with? My mantra has always been that if you build something that is supposed to do everything , it doesn't do any specific task well. The 232 is a great boat for fishing and day cruising. It's not as versatile as a center console for fishing...

    Cabin Musty Odor

It's simple. The anchor locker has to have a drain. The amount of water that a anchor line can absorb is greater than you might think. When you stow the anchor rode, the water will drain out into the locker. It's like hanging a wet towel. On many hulls the water drains into the forward bilge...

    Usable Fuel GW 335

If your pickup is sucking water from the bottom of the tank, your water separator will fill with water. The water has to go somewhere.

    Usable Fuel GW 335

Here is an interesting view on filling the tank or not. The argument is that a full tank will be subject to less condensation and I suppose that is true. How much condensation is a tough question to answer. The physics is complicated. Condensation will only occur during cycles of temperature so...

    Cabin Musty Odor

It may help to dry things out as long as the locker is protected from rain and the humidity is lower than in the locker. Of course, any gunk and bacteria will still be there if you don't flush.

you would be much better off swapping the fuel lines at the tank. ( no replacement yet, just swap pickups tubes.

Yamaha Dual 704 Replacement Advice Needed

A new control will be expensive( about $700) . There are knock off versions available but I probably would stay away from those 'clones'. Perhaps someone on this forun has input.

    Cabin Musty Odor

I do overnight but it depends on how stiff the line was to start. The fabric softener also works for dock lines but eventually they need replacement. The anchor line when it gets stiff will tend to not lay well when retreiving and the locker can get a pile of mounded line. That can lead to the...

The tanks by 'law' have to have a label with the certification info but it could have worn away long ago.

Yamaha Dual 704 Replacement Advice Needed

Although it looks simple, you can easily get into a pickle. As you dissemble the unit, take a lot of photos because there are multiple ways that the units can be configured and usually only one is correct. Note that the two sides are optioned differently too since they need to operate in reverse...

    Cabin Musty Odor

As drbatts said, soak in detergent, rinse, soak in fabric softener if you want it to be more pliable and most important, lay it out on the ground in the sun every now and then to completely dry. When you return from a trip and have used the anchor, it is helpful to rinse the line with fresh...

    Fuel intake issue Canyon 326

I think the OP stated that the bulb was squished. If there were an air leak, the bulb would be soft and not collapsed. That is why I suspect a blockage of some sort

    Cabin Musty Odor

Do you store gear in that space? Anything that might be wet or damp when stowed? Is the helm tightly covered when the boat is not used The smell could be from a water leak, water accumulation or just plain humid air that is condensing into moisture in the cabin. Does the space have a window? If...

    gas tanks

Do you have the plumbing for dual tanks? That would include the tank selector valves. If not, that hull may not have had dual tanks originally. The tanks originally had a label on the tank that listed the capacity in addition to other data. Try cleaning around the sender area and the fill area...

    Fuel intake issue Canyon 326

If only one motor is affected, it isn't a blocked vent but rather something specific to the individual plumbing for that motor. The dealer should figure it out, you shouldn't have to start messing around. One thing that could be tried is to use a portable fuel tank connected at the primer bulb...
