DC Subpanel Replacement and Wire Cleanup

I cleaned up the wiring below the helm and in the radio box. Used the Blue Sea 6 and 12 circuit panels with ground buss. Not the cleanest install, but a world from what was there previously. Happy with the results. Original circuit panel New 12 circuit panel below helm New 6 circuit...

Thanks guys, happy with how it turned out. Maybe a tie off point if I haul my crab pots up there. I have one of those bungy nets that could come in handy.

    1992 Grady-White Seafarer 228 repower!

Congrats! Did you get the why wait for spring incentive 5 years of warranty? It was the deciding factor for me.

Hardware arrived and weather report looks real good. Will take pics. Got a DC sub panel for radio box, couple rod holders, new battery trays and a few other installs planned. Bittersweet being on call. Should be on the water. Was gonna name the boat “Knot On Call”, but I’m starting to think...

    Another good trip to Santee!

Wow, nice fish. Those are blues? We have channel cats out here. Used to fish for them in the Sacramento River and various sloughs in the delta. 11lbs is my personal best.

I’ll get a few pics of the install. Right now we have rain and boat is covered. Installed an air horn on the hardtop to replace the horn that was broken with the cover on and it was not fun. Honestly, if I hadn’t pulled the trigger on the hardware, I would have given hard thought on your...

Not a bad idea KY, although I won’t be hoping I drill it correctly. I have a set of 1/4” dowel pins that fit perfect to getter rite. I wanted nice fasteners and found 316 NL-19TM FOREVERBOLT. Quality finish. Will be done right.

I was mistaken, they are 5/16-18 threads, 5/8” deep. Hardtop 3/4” to 7/8” thick, add 1 1/2” washers (thinking .120) and I need 1 1/2” bolts. All 316 SS of course.

    Trollmaster Pro

Used just once since new motor install, but was able to leave on running with either motor up or down. Was unsure whether or not I wanted to strap the mount to the new Yamaha (didn’t want to scratch my baby), but the mount for the 4.2L was well designed and padded in the right spots. The...

Added the troll master to my Yamaha T9.9 with the EZ-Steer makes trolling for salmon a joy. Excuse the mess, taken during electrical/electronics install & cleanup.

    Look what’s missing

I noticed that moving to the bow on the Seafarer one can feel a bit unsure. What was missing was a grab rail. I found these at Great Lakes Skipper. Description was vague and I was not 100% on what I was gonna receive. But, the price was incredible. Fed Ex just dropped off a nice surprise...

    Fuel Tank Pad Material

Fill hose comes in from starboard side on bow end. That tank has the fill on port or flipped at stern end. I really like having the connection and sender available from existing inspection plate. The made to stock (but .125 thickness) aluminum tank is close to the same price as that after...

    Fuel Tank Pad Material

Was looking at this moeller 58 gallon tank. Dimensions seemed just a bit off (18” H) and a lot of glasswork would be required. Fill seems high and could cause issues. Don’t know, something about a tank designed for the location appeals to me. Could save $400 on materials though.

    Fuel Tank Pad Material

Thanks all for the information. Looks like I will get the tank first and then see what I have to work with as far as thickness and location of material. Learned lot about closed cell neoprene in my searches. I can buy it in 2” wide strips, 1/16” to 1 1/2” thick and in densities of 20 duro to...

    Fuel Tank Pad Material

I am looking for the rubber strips for mounting fuel tank on. Anybody know where to get this? I am ready to set a new aux tank (boat did not come with any one) and not sure what to place under it before securing. Any other ideas? Thanks in advance. Picture for reference only. Fuel
