Maybe depends on how far you are towing if a half ton will cut it . Personally I’ve done this I was 15 minutes away from 3 harbors when I lived in Oxnard years ago. It worked but prematurely ruined the truck. 2500 with a diesel 4x4 is the ticket, tow anywhere, any ramp. No worries imho

I was referring to shift shaft seal and both drive shaft seals. print from SIM shows i believe with both drive shaft seal with lip up and shift shaft seal lip down...is that correct??

im pretty sure its gear oil.

Replace both seals regardless of results of pressure test? Or change both seals and then pressure test to confirm seals are set?

Don't assume that the fuse is under power. Get the spec off of the pump.. If you can't see it. Search online for the spec by using the brand and model number.. Not Good practice to install larger Amp fuses if not needed.

I removed the lower a few weeks ago to fix my shifter problems. No corrosion was present. Drive shaft seal under the water pump?

I turned off low voltage alarms on electronics.. Annoying

Basic job? Any special tools? Tips and tricks, suggested parts to have on hand or replace as well?. There goes memerial day weekend ocean fishing.. Heading to Sierras for trout.
