    Wake Spray

Another possible factor is whether your livable seacock is open or closed. If open the livewell will fill adding weight to that side of the boat.

    Rear deck cover

I had one made for my Marlin for shade when anchored out at Shell or Crooked Island. It has two long Stainless steel poles that fit into the back rod holders and a Grady blue sunbrella cover that slides on under my hard top rod holders stretches across the deck and then has grommets that fit on...

    Are we having fun Yet?

Exactly correct Bob. I don't want my fresh water tank to freeze. Suppose to drop to 27 for a low tonight.

    ELECTRONIS

I have a 4212 but mine is flush mounted which I recommend. I bet there is a way to add it to the helm electronics box. Just thinking of your cross check when using the systems. I think I would have a stiff neck by the end of a couple hours fishing trying to look up.......just thinking of...

Trying to decide what path to take. Older Grady or New CC

Re: Trying to decide what path to take. Older Grady or New C Here is a thought: If the wife is going on the boat with you the center console is out. She will want a head, and want to get out of the sun and rain.

    moving up

Do you plan to fish the new boat or are you a weekend cruiser? Makes a big difference in what boat you should be looking at. For example: the 305 Express is a good overnight cruising boat, but for fishing I would recommend a marlin 300. So...what is your planned type of boating?

    Yamaha F250

I have 2007 twin F250's with 1039 hours, never had a problem. I just changed the timing belts and timing belt tensioners, as recommended. I do all the periodic maintenance as recommended in engine manual, flush engines after each use with salt terminator (or salt away), and CRC 56 everything...

    Timing belts

Had both timing belt tensioners replaced as recommended, although the Port engine tested fine, the starboard engine tensioner was bad.

    Another great bottom trip

Went offshore yesterday (30 miles or so) with six guys. In the fish box: 59 vermillion snapper, 1 mangrove snapper, 43 silver snapper and one big porgy. Released 7 huge triggerfish, 12 AJs, 1 big red grouper, 1 big red snapper. Let the filleting begin!

    2015 models?

I am hooked on my Marlin. If I look at boats it will be another Marlin. Even the "Admiral" likes it.

    Timing belts

So the tech changed the timing belts today. 1038 hours and both needed changing. And sure enough Starboard engine tensioner was bad, on order. Good call Doc Stressor! Timing belts were expensive too!

    Timing belts

Hey guys, anyone tackle changing timing belts in their Yamahas? My engines went over 1000 hours this past October and the engine manual says change the timing belts. I have a 2007 Marlin with F250s. Thanks for any tips.

    Mildew on bolsters

I use Zep. You get it at Home Depots. I got this tip from a buddy of mine. I buy the gallon jug of commercial mold and mildew stain remover. Wipe it on wait 5-10 minutes and wash off. Works like a champ. Bolsters look like new. In the cockpit and in the cabin you should use white vinegar...
