    First boat stupid question

If you upsize to the 1500 you’ll want to check your wiring and fuse/breaker for proper sizing. Blue Sea calculator or any wire sizing chart will tell you what gauge wire should be used for they current and total run length. There are a lot of articles on wire/breaker/fuse sizing, etc. on this...

Propellor being used on 228G Seafarer and 250 Four Stroke

One more thing. Please note whether you have a DF250 or DF250AP (with the electronic throttle). The final drive ratios and rpm range are different enough to affect what prop you select. DF250AP DF250

Propellor being used on 228G Seafarer and 250 Four Stroke

Ken Reeves (941) 735-5808 kr@propgods.com I have an Adventure 208 with a Suzuki DF250AP and am looking at switching to a 4 blade. Talked to Ken and he recommended a PowerTech LFS (16” diameter) in an 18” pitch since I’ll be running in the ocean and likely will never even see a scenario where I...

    '93 Seafarer

Both got way better deals than me (probably because I had trucking and ocean freight bundled and arranged through a single company). Sounds like buying East and shipping will get you better value for your money.

    '93 Seafarer

If you look East it’ll cost around $5-6k to have a company tow a boat to the West Coast. You can have a new trailer made for cheaper out East too. That combined with the greater selection and lower prices might help you find exactly what you’re looking for. Just throwing another option out there.

    Cleaning Her Up

I fish my boat 99% of the time so I’m not worried about her staying showroom clean. That said I do wash the entire boat with West Marine boat soap after each outing. The bilge gets filled with fresh water until the float switch kicks on. That gives me verification the switch/bilge pump are...

Helm Seat Height...and other seat discussions

If you’re 5’8 or shorter you might want to consider making a standing platform at the helm. It helps with sight lines and it makes getting into the chairs easier after adding the pedestal extenders. You can also move your footrest up two holes so it’s still useable with the higher seat. I...

    Floor panel 226

I’ve found it easier to search the forum via google. Type the following into the search bar where “search term” is what you’re looking for: “Site:www.greatgrady.com search term” In this case try something like: “Site:www.greatgrady.com gas tank lid repair”

    Which Garmin?

Thank you for the explanation and sharing that info on the SteadyCast, wasn’t aware they made something like that. For $150 (msrp) or less it looks like a pretty good investment! https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/p/572462

Anyone add a 2nd Bilge pump in the stern of their boat?

Maybe make the vertical section of that bracket about a few feet longer and it wouldn’t be such a hassle to get to the bilge pumps in our boats (Adventure 208)? I’m thinking aluminum flat bar but not sure if it’s rigid enough to keep the pump/switch in place if secured that far above the bottom...

    Which Garmin?

What do you mean by bouncing around? I only use the internal antenna and set my display on heads/heading up so it does rotate a fair amount as I’m navigating through chop/swell. If not that could it be due to the model of chart plotter? I believe the EchoMap series have a 5 Hz gps whereas the...

Anyone add a 2nd Bilge pump in the stern of their boat?

Kind of late to the party but I didn’t see it mentioned that the flow rate of your bilge pumps will also depend on the amount of head they’re seeing; depending on how your discharge hose is routed you can see a significant drop in actual versus published flow rate. This generally shouldn’t be an...
