    265 Express Fuel line replacement

I have a 2004 265 with twin F225s and love it. It's closing in on 20 years so I'm going to replace the fuel lines from the tanks to the engine and everything in between. The lines from the selector valves are easy- it's from the tank to the valves that concern me. If you've replaced these...

265 express waste line replacement e

I replaced the macerator on my '04 265 and to get access, I had to cut a large rectangular hole in the base of the large storage area beside the helm. You can probably get access to the hoses from this hole. If you search for macerator replacement you'll find the info I posted with some pics of...

Who do you have your boat insured through?

I researched this heavily for my '04 265 Express. I was with Charter Lakes but Markel increased the premium by 20%. I got quotes from Markel Amica Progressive Geico Marine underwriters Sea Insure, part of Sea Tow Wound up with Sea Insure because of Agreed value, low(est) premium, hurricane haul...

How much corrosion expected in 2005 Yamaha 225hp with 650hrs?

Like evopro, my port '04 F225 had severe corrosion at the thermostat and the resultant hole sprayed seawater into the air intake. I needed a new powerhead. $15K In '06 F225 Yamahas and later, they added an anode to the thermostat housing, which I retrofitted to my starboard engine (the new...

    UGH........New Control Cables

I installed new control cables on my 265 a few years ago and the trick to getting the new ones pulled through was to use a 10-32 connector nut to join the old with the new. The ends of the cables are a 10-32 threaded rod. The nut is small in "diameter" so it gets through the tight spaces...

    Transom drain tubes

Thanks, I'll have to check the length of mine. Found this stainless one but it looks like it's too short for the 265, maybe other folks could use them. https://www.replacementboatparts.com/114stainlesssteelmotorwelldrain.aspx

    Transom drain tubes

I'm seeing the same exact issues with my 2004 265 - flanges gone and some corrosion. Aside from using brass have you found other options? What diameter are they? (I'm away from the boat so I can't check for a while). One more thing on the list!

Just got the excise tax bill from Falmouth for my documented 265 Express. They'll find you!

    Documented vessle vs state registration

I was told that documenting a new boat in MA would avoid the sales tax (since it's not registered with the state), but that turned out not to be correct. Took them a few years but they hunted me down and I had to pay the tax plus interest. Something to consider.

    265 X - flat panel dash

I had great luck with Fin Addict Marine in NC. They provided 1/2in starboard that matches the Grady color, cut to my drawing for the electronics panel. $48 Contact Brown Towles President Fin-Addict Marine P: 919-989-6813 x224

    Thru-hull scupper on 282

For your application, I would go with 316 stainless fittings. Since it's at the waterline, there's a high oxygen content so corrosion is unlikely even in seawater. Lots of info on this application using 316. Many power plant feedwater heaters use 316L tubes for example. Chrome on bronze will...

NE Canyon run w/ gas bladder planning

Yup, that's about the odds of getting one! Having a location does mean at least one has been there - doesn't hurt to give it a shot.

Not to hijack the thread, but where did you catch the halibut? I'm in Falmouth and would love to try for them.

    Boat Insurance

Check into Gallagher Charter Lakes. They'll shop around for you and find the best policy that meets the requirements you tell them you want - at rates lower than you'll be able to find on your own. I saved about 20% from Sea Insure, got a longer season, hurricane haulout, and mechanical...

    GW 265 Express new electronics

Here's a picture of 12" Raymarine Axiom units installed over the electronics box on color matching Starboard. They've been flawless over the past 3 years. The dsm is located in the box.

    electronics upgrade

Sorry for the delayed response - been too busy fishing! No regrets at all about the radar. It works well with the Axiom and makes a nice overlay on the chart. I use the radar mainly to spot other boats and buoys especially in the fog so it's great for that purpose. Good luck with the new units...
