    Dekit or SeaDeck

Using a template from another boat (same model) is a mistake. There are noticeable differences in deck plate seams, pedestal mounts, and just about everywhere. The beauty of Seadek, FlexDek, Dekit, etc… is that you get a fitted, custom look. They map your deck with lasers and make precise...

    Digital 300’s

I did the same thing almost exactly a year ago, but without the joystick. Suzukis. Waited seven months.

    Sureshade factory option

Depending on your model and layout, you may want to think about a fixed shade. Mine doesn’t bother my fishing and it really protects well from sun and rain.

2003 Marlin 300 center of gravity

When you get your boat on the lift, checking the cable tension by hand at each lift point will give you an indication of how well the load is balanced.

2003 Marlin 300 center of gravity

Correct. 1200 pounds hanging on the transom plus a 250 pound generator and another couple hundred pounds of water and diesel throw the COG well back.

2003 Marlin 300 center of gravity

I use a point at the aft end of the livewell. Fuel isn’t a big concern because the tanks are so close to the COB point. The water tank is aft, however, as well as the generator and diesel tank if you have those (I do). To visualize it, my Marlin has about 2/3 of the length forward of my...

Air conditioner options for 2014 Marlin 300

Perhaps a better question to ask right up front is this: How much are you willing to spend to have AC in your cabin? I imagine the cost of a new marine AC unit plus the expense of haulout, wiring, plumbing, drilling the hull, etc… will be a good $10k, maybe more. Purchasing and installing a...

Air conditioner options for 2014 Marlin 300

Does your Marlin have a non-functioning unit now or was AC never installed? Do you have a generator?

    Props for Marlin

I believe new props are in my future, but I hear they’re hard to come by right now. I’ve already communicated with Ken at Prop Gods and he recommended Mercury Enertia ECOs. I read the comment by Fido earlier in this thread who raised his motors one hole (from second from top to third from top)...

    Props for Marlin

This is an old thread, but I wanted to see if there are any other Marlin owners out there with 300 Suzukis who found raising the motors to the third mounting hole from the top worked best for them. I’ve already switched to 17 pitch props, but can still only get 5800 RPM running light. I’d like...

    Fischer panda problem

I think there are a lot of us who have several of those wingnuts residing at the bottom of the generator housing where we have dropped them over time. Having said that, my 2006 Fischer-Panda still runs great.

    Sea deck

I have the plain vanilla hull with a tower and some extra hull-colored canvas over the cockpit and over the tower. Dark teak decking makes a nice contrast and has some functionality, too. I put a cool wrap on my last boat after having it a few years and it made the boat feel new. The FlexDek...

    Suzuki Props For Marlin

Tried the 17 pitch Suzuki props today. Faster plane and got to 6000 RPM. Cruise at 31 MPH at 4200 RPM getting 1.4 MPG. top speed was 44 MPH. With the boat’s extra wind resistance and weight, I’m very pleased, and getting into the center of the RPM range will be better for the motors.

    Suzuki Props For Marlin

Ken at PropGods has been helpful. He recommends trying the 16x17 Suzuki props. I was just hoping someone might have some personal experience with this boat/motor/prop combination.

    Suzuki Props For Marlin

Any Marlin owners with DF300s running the 16x18.5 props? What is your max RPM? Has anyone tried the 16x17 props?

    Cabin cushion recover

We had ours done to match the bulkhead padding. Off-white marine vinyl with brown piping. Pads were fine, so we reused them.

    Suzuki Props For Marlin

I finally got my DF300s a few weeks ago and have been running with the Suzuki 16 x 18.5 3-blade props. I can’t get over 5600 RPM, so my dealer will try a lower pitch when we do the 20 hour service in a couple of weeks. As I said at the beginning of this post, I probably have a few hundred pounds...

    Real Repower Cost, Twin 250's

I agree about the Mastry dealers. My Suzuki 300s are going on now. Just under $49k including tax with rigging, props, gauges, etc.. And that includes rigging a second station on top. Wait time was seven months.
