Thanks...see that as a popular one from the folks I talk to along with CPP. I’m waiting for the Marina to call me to find out what they used on the hull as it worked well and why the bottom of the bracket was loaded with Barnacles.

I’ll take pics once I receive mine but I believe the Grady Color is “36”... I ordered DP64-36, which are the screw ones with diamond pattern. Supposedly the Grady ones are pop outs but it’s a kit and they can convert it to screw ins.

I completely agree on all feedback. Think there were a bunch of factors at play. All I know is that I am installing a CO detector so this won’t be on my mind in the future

I’ll take a look at this once I finish alll my other jobs. It’s interesting as I thought it was dirty early in the season and then I started thinking it was worn once I started to see a gap by the rub rails.

How come you have anodes on your trim tabs? What did you use on the bracket vs hull? You mentioned West Marine for both but were less impressed with west marine

I’ll grab some more pics to compare. It seems as if mine is more worn than his as I don’t notice such a difference between the two surfaces as you can see on his pics.

I just ordered 5 new hatches today directly from Beckson to get the Grady color. I’ll let you know if they have the gaskets. The old ones on my 2000 228 didn’t have any other than the sealant that acted as a gasket.

I’m sold on the screw in ones. I put new gaskets on all of them and it still doesn’t stop the water from coming through as you don’t know if the gaskets creases or gets unaligned when you snap it back into the hatch. My tanks seem to be dirty right where the hatches are and gets cleaner as you...

Agreed...I definitely will get a marine one after living through a detector that would malfunction whenever my daughter would leave the bathroom door open while showering.

Have you checked out GradyWhite.com??? .Go to Grady owners and then owners manuals. They have just one general one for 1992 but have a bunch of info on fuel in there...

Thanks for the feedback. I need to start looking at some boats by me as I don’t remember any of the trim housings having paint. My bracket did but nothing on the outboard. I’m hoping to get my boat next week but will look for any sales and buy the paint ASAP in case we get another window.

Thanks...I just started researching sensors and will look to get 1 for the cabin and another for possibly under the hardtop for when the enclosures are up. Is this a common purchase in smaller boats (22ft) having an outboard? Dont Remember seeing any when I was looking.

Thanks...Thinking of using the 4200 underneath and then debating whether to use a product like 4000 on the outside perimeter to prevent water from entering. Maybe overkill???

Bracket that hangs off... Frustrating as I thought I could get two seasons out of bottom paint but looks like it’s an annual job now. Also, does anyone paint the bracket that is part of the outboard/ trim housing? Noticed I had a few barnacles there as well. Really curious how some boats look...

Would I need it to be UV stable if not exposed to the sun?

Does it make sense to seal all screws/ bolts from top or just focus on those where the drip is coming from?
