    228 Custom Back Drop

I am really impressed with the forethought to include some pull-straps to assist in tensioning the cloth so the snaps can be easily snapped. I had a sloper on a jetboat years ago and pulling the canvas tight enough to snap after the storage shrinkage was a struggle. I had to eventually buy a...

    228 Custom Back Drop

Very nice sloper. Obviously not the first one that guy has made.

    Scratched Compass

I remember that many years ago, salmon trolling in the fog off the Washington coast out of Westport. Trying to watch my lines out the back and keep an eye on the compass up front got comical at times. I gradually got the clue to watch the track of foam in the slow wake to help run straight...

    Scratched Compass

Smart choice in keeping the old "Made in USA" compass instead of spending hard earned money on a new one that would probably say China.

228G Seafarer Advice on inside cushions along gunwales

If this guy will ship, you would save a bunch of money over having them made. Just have to cut them for length. https://sarasota.craigslist.org/bpo/d/bradenton-bolster-cushions/7071068113.html

    LIve well and wash down

You have a through-hull raw water pickup/strainer and a bronze ball valve. If you want to upgrade to a genuine seacock get one of these... https://sarasota.craigslist.org/bpo/d/sarasota-bronze-sea-cocks-2/7073341535.html

    LIve well and wash down

I agree. Grady quit using the "ball and socket" connector because it corrodes and seizes too quickly. They now use a threaded, stainless clevis. If you don,t have a supplier near you, you can order one from McMasters.

Update on engines....back to the drawing board lol

That broken switch may work. Just slide that button up or down to activate the switch. That's all the rocker cover does.

Update on engines....back to the drawing board lol

My old 3.3L F225 would start peeing right away on the muffs but when I repowered with a 4.2L, I found that it took a long time before it would fill the heads and start peeing. I couldn't make myself keep it running that long without seeing proof that the impeller was in water. I started taping...

    2003 era 330 Anti-Siphon Valve?

I would add to what seasick is saying that if the starvation situation is the cause of the engines slowing or stalling, then at that time the primer bulbs would be sucked totally flat. If the bulbs are still bulbous while the engines are loosing rpms, then a blocked vent can be eliminated.

    2020 Yamaha F250 prop on 226

The way I change mounting holes does not include removing or lifting the engine. Here is my method. Level the trailer frame using the tongue jack. Adjust trim/tilt to get the motor fairly plumb. Use wooden blocks or similar to block tight under the skagg. Remove the two top bolts from the...

    Windshield wiper adjustment

I don't know the model wiper motor you have but in the past I have had wiper motors that to adjust the range , a cover was removed and there was a cam shaped plate with a series of holes along the curved side and the drive arm was pinned to the appropriate hole for the desired range. That was...

    2020 Yamaha F250 prop on 226

Lite Tackle, In one of your earlier posts in this thread you mentioned a vibration at idle speed. I have the same engine only in 225 flavor. I also experienced that and did some research. That noise and vibration is an occurrence called, " prop rattle". It is caused by sudden changes in the...

Hydraulic pump location for Bennett M120 trim tabs

I have the 205 Tournament. It has the same stern layout. I have the raw water washdown pump, freshwater pump, fuel/water separator and battery in the port stern under-seat storage space. My battery switch, battery, trim tab pump and EIC brain-box are in the Starboard side storage space...

Mine is from 2004 and it is a Seastar HC5358. It is on a single Yamaha F225. I don't know if there were changes in those years.

Anyone ever slid their boat on or off a trailer?

This is what Dennis is talking about. I pulled my trailer out from under a previous boat to redo the anti-fouling paint. Let the trailer tongue as low as you can get it. Build your chine supports to fit tight and block tight under the keel/transom intersection. When you crank the tongue back up...

    Sealing Snap Fasteners

I think if you want sealant on those snaps you would be better off doing it yourself after the installation. I don't know your contractor but if that is something he doesn't do on any of his regular jobs then he won't be good at it and it will likely fall to a minimum wage bottom tier worker...

Added a Second Wire Conduit From Hardtop to Helm on 330 Express

Ah Ha....so we tell the sheriffs boat that it is a wire conduit but in actuality it is the beer delivery pipe bringing the product from the mini brewery installed in the cudy . Very ingenious. Obviously you will mount the spigot in the overhead box. I wondered why you chose that high quality...
