    Spreader lights quit...

I can't remember for sure, it's been awhile but you may have to rotate that whit plastic bulb holder to get it off. It may be a snap out item also. Mine was slightly different but there are additional screws under the bulb holder. When you drop that out you will have access to all the wiring...

    Spreader lights quit...

On mine I removed the two nuts holding the reflector in place, removed the reflector and there were two screws holding the housing in place.

    Engine bracket plug

I missunderstood what you needed. I thought you were referring to the plug in the hydraulic tank for the tilt/trim. Sorry for confusing the issue.

    1994 209 Escape Seacock live well/raw water

That's the normal layout for those years. You have a seacock valve with the newer looking hose. (That's good) and a diverted valve. By turning that from one position to the other you can chose water to your livewell or to your deck wash hose.

    Engine bracket plug

I would think it will be a metric size with metric threads. Contact SimYamaha or iboats and with your model number you can get the correct part.

Timing belt dust on 4.2L F225

I have not taken it to them yet. I sent them an email yesterday asking if they were ready to take mine in and have not heard back. This shutdown really has things in a jam. You can't even walk on the beach here. It gripes me now that they recommended I not use it till they have a look at it and...

Autopilot installation in GW 265 Express...

If your mounting the pump right behind the helm like that, I definitely recommend you isolate the pump "foot" from the fiberglass or you will be driven nuts with the incessant "humming" whenever it is activated. That pump is a busy little guy and it is distracting. The last 3 installations I...

Is this one time use stuff?

The freezer will help, but for sealing the transom bracket and bolts that is not a good choice. That is not considered a permanent mounting and you will cuss yourself when one day you want to remove it. You only need a sealant there not an adhesive. That's just my $.02. When that stuff first...

Timing belt dust on 4.2L F225

I got a call from Cannons Marina service today and they don't want me to bring the boat in just yet. The Governor just stopped all non essential business, so the marina needs to figure out what part of their business they can operate........strange times.

Timing belt dust on 4.2L F225

He said they were going to remove the belt and examine all the drive sprockets and given no obvious defects there he would install a new belt and let me use it, while watching closely for belt residue build-up. The one thing that gripes me is my choice of dealer when I purchased my new engine...

Timing belt dust on 4.2L F225

I contacted another dealer and upon reviewing the the same pictures I posted here the shop manager said there is something amiss and recommended I don't run the motor till they look into it. He thought the most likely reason for the belt deterioration is the belt itself. He said it could be a...

    Can't get full throttle on F225 4.2L

    Can't get full throttle on F225 4.2L

When I purchased the new engine I moved the old prop to the new motor. It was a 15 1/4 X 19 three blade. It was obviously too much prop and given that the lower unit ratio is higher geared than the old one I wasn't surprised. It would only turn it about 5200 rpm/WOT. I bought a 15 1/4 X 17...

Timing belt dust on 4.2L F225

I sent pictures to the service department where I bought the motor and they said this is normal. I think I will check with another dealer when I get a chance. Kinda strange to me that all us guys that own and use them think it's haywire and the dealer says it's all roses.

Timing belt dust on 4.2L F225

I'm going to pull the covers back off today and have a closer look. I did notice that the belt is right at the top of the sprocket. First I want to see if it is the same on all the sprockets.

Timing belt dust on 4.2L F225

I was looking the engine over this morning and found a build-up of belt dust on the port camshaft timing belt sprocket. The engine has around 60 hrs on it. I know there has to be a certain amount of wear-in on components such as this but was just wondering if anyone else has noticed this on...
