Gullchaser, Did you sell the V-21 when you bought the 265? I had 3 V-20's and 2 V-21's. I still think that they are one of the best looking boats ever made. I really enjoyed them. I still miss them a bit.

Are there any problems with testing compression with the engine tilted up. I thought I would do it with the boat in the water. Easier to get to the cylinders this way.

You are also required to double the price when you put Marine on it.

FWIW, my tabs were not working when I got my 226. It ended up being the switch which I replaced and it cured the problem. There is a way to troubleshoot that to determine if the switch is actually bad.

Trilogy, how was it working with the carbon fiber panel? Did you need any special tools? I really like the look of that material.

Is anybody running a 248 / 258 with a single 300? I would be interested in knowing how the performance is. I had a 248 with twin 150 2-stroke and thought the performance was quite good. Just curious how a single 300 might stack up against that.

I just added some clamp on rod holders to my 226. It has an after market hardtop. It has 2 sizes of pipe on it . I mounted to the smaller tube which had an outside diameter of 1.315. That is one of the common sizes. I bought new Lee's rod holders on ebay for $100 for 4. The second picture shows...

I measured mine this morning. Mine is 34 in from the water to the bottom of the rub rail.

I would say that it wouldn't have anything to do with the fuel vent. In that location, the water splashing up there would go right to the tank if it were there as a fuel vent. Just guessing it looks as if it might have been a hole for something electrical to pass through, like a GPS puck, horn...
