Resolved - How much fuel is left when the Yamaha alarm flashes - 375 Freedom

The most accurate display is with the boat at rest. If you are cruising and then come to a stop, you need to wait a few minutes for the display to stabilize. Also note that passenger weight distribution can affect the reading. The more weight aft, the fuller the tank may read. If you have the...

2004 Yamaha HPDI 200 hp value

In general, that motor is a dependable workhorse. It is a dog on fuel usage though and it has all the traits that were typical with those years of 2 strokes. The smoke isn't awful as long as the oil pump is adjusted correctly. It is loud. They also use more oil than more modern designs of 2...

Resolved - How much fuel is left when the Yamaha alarm flashes - 375 Freedom

Mine is not at all linear. When the display changes from 2 bars to 1 bar, I still have 20 gallons of gas. That is twice what you get by using the 1/8 of a tank estimate..

Resolved - How much fuel is left when the Yamaha alarm flashes - 375 Freedom

There is no definite answer. If I see a flashing bar on my gauge, I worry if I am not close to home port. Remembering that the tanks are not symmetrical a change of one bar does not relate to an absolute quantity of gas. In addition, there may be gas in the tank that sits lower than the lowest...

    How much bottom paint......

If you read the instructions, they usually make it clear that vigorous stirring and re-stirring are advised:)

UPDATE Advice dealing with Moisture at the Trim Tabs

In my experience, 5200 when used to seal screw holes ( not the tab flange, just the screws) is not permanent. I have had no problems removing screws. I guess it depends on the area that makes contact and for small screws, the area is pretty small. If I had 4200 on hand or a poly based sealant, I...

UPDATE Advice dealing with Moisture at the Trim Tabs

A lot of folks don't paint the tabs. Many also install sacrificial anodes (zincs) to reduce electrolysis. Here is a link to some helpful info https://bennetttrimtabs.com/guide-to-trim-tabs/#1537884641023-0f51a676-7c0d

UPDATE Advice dealing with Moisture at the Trim Tabs

As long as the holes didn't weep water after the tab plate was removed, you should be OK. You may want to apply something like butyl tape to the mounting plate as well as some sealant to the screw holes to prevent the accululation of water between the plate and hull. As long as the screws cab be...

    Fuel Gauge Always Reads Full

It depends on where the article was originally published. In Europe the senders work in the opposite direction; Full is low ohms and empty is high ohms. Sort like driving on the other side of the road

    How much bottom paint......

In my experience, shaking at the store is not enough. You need to really stir before use AND during use. Stirring doesn't mean a stick. It means a paint mixing attachment on a drill.. The solids at least on water based bottoms paints settle out quickly

    Position on trailer

I do not position bunks so that they are farther back than the trim tabs. On pocketed tab design, that means the bunks should be positioned a foot to two feet back from the transom. As I probably said earlier, the position is not as critical as the location of the center of load (within reason)

    Fuel Gauge Always Reads Full

Disconnecting the sender wire (pink) should cause an empty tank reading, not full

How are the fuel gauges wired??

Depending on things like the tank angle at rest, the shape of the tank and the clearance between the bottom of the sender and the tank floor, the levels sensed wont match perfectly to the actual quantity of fuel in the tank. The worst case is where the fuel sender sits lower than the actual fuel...

    Engine trim noise

Since it makes the noise while under power, I would tend to assuming that it is related to the forces on the motor. When driving forward, the force of the thrust is pushing the motor . So I would see if I could make the noise happen by putting downward force on the lower unit while trimming. You...

    How much bottom paint......

It is very important to follow the instructions not just for the painting but for the prep work. If you do not follow the steps for prep, you probably will have failures with the bottom paint. Take a look at the Pettit site https://www.pettitpaint.com/ and then at the How To tab. Lots of good...

    Windless Issues

A picture of the forward components as well as the windlass would help. I wonder if there is something wrong with the roller mechanism forward. You either have a roller assembly or a pulpit with a roller of some sort where the line makes the turn down towards the water. Have you checked that...

    Windless Issues

Good point Dennis. I forgot to ask where the line failed. So where did the line fail and how much chain was rigged. I suppose it is possible that the wrong spec line was used.

WTB oil pumps for 2 stroke yamaha 225 1999

Before you replace the pumps, are you sure they or it is bad? There are diagnostic steps to determine whether they are working correctly. Most common issue on the oiling system is clogging of the inline filter on the back of the remote tank. The tanks also can collect oil sludge. If you are sure...
