    My MSD is raw water electric and it also has a macerator for discharge. There is a selector lever to direct the tank 'drain' to either the pump out deck fitting or to the overboard discharge thru-hull with seacock.

    I forgot to ask; when it doesn't work, do you hear the motor running when you press the switch either at the helm or on the cowling? If you hear the motor but the motor doesn't tilt, you most likely have a hydraulic issue as opposed to a motor issue.

    There is a lock lever bit I also insert a hunk of wood. The motor without the tilt rod attached scares me. Also note that if you try to manually lift he motor off of the stop with the level turned off, as you lower the motor, it gets heavier and heavier. It is not a one person operation.
