    251 ce battery/electrical issue

I would not expect a battery to read 13.3 volts unless it was being charged, So either there is charging ( shore powered maybe) or you have a goofy digital volt meter. Do not rely on any voltage readings displayed by a MFD , sounder etc. Also tell me if you removed your batteries sometime...

    251 ce battery/electrical issue

If the 9 volts you measured was taken at the physical battery terminals, you have either of two things: The battery is shot, perhaps a bad cell or it isn't getting charged. If you have two batteries total, it is unlikely that one battery isn't getting charged.. Simplest thing to do is pull the...

    2021 freedom 215?

If the tank were less full, you would notice a difference. Regardless, I think that your test numbers fall into the "What you see is what you get' category. I don't see any issues.

If I use those specs, your prop slip works out to about 11% which is quite normal.

Switching between Primary and auxiliary fuel tanks

No rocker switch. It was and would be a manual selector valve. The rocker switch selects which tank sender gets connected to the fuel gauge, main or aux

    2021 freedom 215?

Is your motor a 4 or a 6 cyl model? I would guess it is an I4. In that case the WOT range is 500 to 6000 revs. So your WOT figure is in the range. I would guess that your 6100 rev data refers to the rev limiter number. I can't say if all is good or not without knowing the specs for the prop...

    Helm Power Wire Gauge?

Too much thinking going on. If it is true that the accessory feed is 12G. That feed is sized too small. It's as simple as that based on your load stats.Yes, there could be other issues but the correctly sized conductor should be the first task. As to the question as to whether you need or want...

    Outboard Repower 1994 Tournament 192

The manufacturer's rating for max HP is not based on weight per se but rather on the strength of the transom. More HP, more torque. More torque, more stress on the transom..

    Outboard Repower 1994 Tournament 192

Have a friend who weighs 150 pounds or more stand aft and see how the boat sits. The farther away from the vertical center line of the outboard the friend stands, the more he or she needs to weigh to simulate the effect of the extra weight of the newer motor

    Helm Power Wire Gauge?

Unfortunately the answer isn't simple. There are three main parameters that are needed to size the conductors: The amperage draw, the total length of the round trip run, and the acceptable voltage drop under load. The first is obvious, the second some what obvious but note that the smallest...

    Running out of fuel

You probably had no fuel under the pickup. When the hull settled down, the gas ran forward starving the pickup. Less likely but possible depending on the engines is that you have weak lift or low pressure pumps and they just can't suck gas at the level the gas is sitting. I have my doubts that...

    Lower unit coating

A buddy of mine installed a new Alpha one SEI unit about 10 years ago. The instruction that came with it had explicit steps for priming and painting the housing. My buddy decided he didn't need to do all that work and just pianted the unit with engine paint. After about 1 year of service, the...

    Fin zinc

I would use the new one. I wonder if the black color is some sort of oxidation caused by a chemical reaction with some cleaner or the like. My concern would be that if there is a coating, that might render the anode ineffective. I did a quick search for the part number and every new one was...
