    The Oil Slick...Kind Of Grady-Related.

JUMPINJACK/LUNDINROOF Thanks for the comments and updates. For reasons we already know about, I don't trust everything the media reports. It's people like you all that provide the real info..

    Leaving boat in water....

These guys are right.. Do as Walker does, finish your drink at the sandbar and dive under with a rag and wipe down the hull..No prob. Anything longer than a couple weeks, as stated above by Doc., can start to be an issue.

    The Oil Slick...Kind Of Grady-Related.

Hi Bama.. Keep us posted..Yeah, they media predicted the slick to be onshore LAST Friday with the Southerly winds associated with the storm system that brought all the rain to Tenn. and Ky. The winds went NW after the system went thru, slowing the progress. Now they are concerned about the...

    The Oil Slick...Kind Of Grady-Related.

I am both sad and puzzled about your outboard, Smoky..Beyond that, I guess they are rigging a huge Liberty Bell" type of contraption to lower down and cover the source of the leak. Then, a tube runs from the "crown" of the bell up to the surface, funneling the escaping oil into a container ship...

    The Oil Slick...Kind Of Grady-Related.

If someone doesn't dive down and shut off the faucet, the experts say the consequences could be far-reaching. I would be interested to know the thoughts of Bama96 and other Grady-owners living in the Panhandle stretching to Texas. You all are close to the situation down there. Does all...

Need Trailer advice for 2004 Grady White Marlin 30

Hi Marlin30.. A 350 Superduty is fine..The advantage of dual rear wheels is the side-to-side stability that it gives in crosswind situations; curves taken at speed, etc. The marlin is a big momma..the more stability and rubber on the road, the better. That said, as long as you've got a...

    Scuppers below water line

The scuppers sit a little below the waterline on my twin-engine 232 Gulfstream. Any water that comes in drains out fine. The key for you is if the drain holes in the deck do not have water coming up thru them, they should drain fine. Put it to the test dockside..Run a hose into the cockpit and...

Ride of newer hull as compared to older design

No Problem is right.. I traded my 22 Seafarer for my current 2007 Gulfstream and the difference is way more than a SeaV2 Vs. a non-SeaV2 hull would be. I was floored at the difference in ride. Makes me wonder what a Marlin would be in comparison; then I remember Megabytes told me bigger is...

Ride of newer hull as compared to older design

When I was contemplating my 1st Grady purchase, I sea-trialed a 20 Adventure(Pre-SV2) out of Saugatuck. I ultimately bought a 22 Seafarer that was a 92, the 1st SV2 made. I didn't notice any difference either. Both rode well. Maybe I missed something?

Help me decide gulfstream or islander

I, too, traded a Seafarer for a Gulfstream. I have no input on the Islander, as I've never been on one. Like Smoky, I wish they still made it, and had it on my wish list. Anyway, the 232 rides worlds better than the Seafarer. As mentioned by midnite rider, the beam is wide on the Gulf. It is...

How many here are on Facebook?

I am on FB..Smoky has a good idea.. If you steer away from the nutcases, it's a great way to re-connect/keep in touch with people. We have to steer away from nutcases in real life, so what's the difference? If someone could start a Grady White Fan Page or something, it would be yet another...

    It's Official

Great looking rig George! Plus, your getting started in April as opposed to October..The season begins! Does it ride significantly better than the Sailfish?

    Basic Wax Question

Hey.. Can't speak for the masses, but I wax any part of the boat exposed to elements. The non-skid deck surfaces do not get waxed. My formula is wax once a month during boating season. During the off-season and between trips she is stored indoors. I wax in the fall before winter lay-up...

    305 express question

In addition to what NEM said... I have a Gulfstream 232 with twin 200's and in calm water( a rare occurrence) I trim out to 3 bars at between 3600 and 4000 RPM. In rougher conditions, I trim down a bit as the stern is coming further out with the waves passing underneath.

New Boat - what will it take for you to buy one?

No plans to trade/buy here. My 232 is perfect for what I do and to make a significant upgrade would cost an incredible amount. Plus, my Gulfstream would be worth 1/2 of what I paid in this day-and-age.(maybe less.) I think plain old desire increases temptation and the urge to get the...

    Grady White Newsletter

Thanks Chris. I probably misinterpreted that info..It has been awhile since I 1st got the scoop on my 2-battery setup. Obviously I had it on my Seafarer and now on my Gulfstream. it is a great setup and (knock on wood) I have never been stuck with a dead battery since.
