    Towing 30'+ & CDL, Non-Commerce

Looking for actual first hand experience here Wondering if anyone has been cited for not having a CDL towing their 26,001+ combined weight truck/trailer. Everything I read in regulations and publications say I DO NOT need a CDL where I am not towing for commerce, if I chartered different...

    fogging engine

I usually remove all spark plugs, spray a generous amount of fogging oil into each cylinder, put plugs back and crank engine a few times with emergency lanyard pulled so they do not start.

    2001 yamaha

Assuming 2 strokes, even compression around 110-120psi and all cylinders within 10% on each motor, look at the plugs when you take them off and they should all look the same. Going for a ride if you can and making sure they do not hesitate and come up to full RPMs, 5500+/-. If you buy it with...

    Ebay Storage Cover Review

Someone on one of the Grady FB groups was going back and forth with Sealskin for a cover that would work, the first attempt was too short. For the $300 I am happy enough with this cover and hope I get 2 or maybe 3 years out of it.

    Ebay Storage Cover Review

Every time I u wrapped our old 272 I was never impressed with how much cleaning I still had to do, even after going away clean. Maybe the guy I was using could have made it tighter and more vents, but either way we didn’t really want to go that route. Also when the bot was stored on Cape Cod it...

    Ebay Storage Cover Review

We used to shrink wrap the boat, but I was honestly not impressed with how dirty the boat always was after I uncovered it. Also I am not a tree hugger by any stretch, but the volume of plastic from just one boat seemed sinful. We did a giant blue tarp a few times that worked ok, but the fit...

    How To Winterize AC System?

We were not exactly sure how to do our ac this year and this was very helpful. I ended up just putting a cut off funnel over the sea strainer and it pushed all the water out and I added some pink antifreeze to the funnel and forced it through with the shop vac, worked great!

Winterize 1998 272 fresh water line

The line I was referring to was the line from the tank to the pump. Even that line would typically have little water in it, but on my sailfish it was easy enough to put a little antifreeze down there while it was disconnected anyways.

Winterize 1998 272 fresh water line

I had a 1999 272. To winterize I would bypass the water heater and drained it, since I never used it I left it that was all year. I would run the tank empty and then made a pickup adaptor for the water pump and pumped RV antifreeze through the system, should only take 1, maybe 2 gallons tops...

    Delivery Day, 305 Express

We have been buying, fixing up, and selling boats for 10+ years and finally found the one that we are going to keep! We were looking for a Marlin, but this was top of our budget, newer, and nicer than we ever planned on. Have a few small things to address but we are excited for next year! 2009...

    Trailer Advice

Most of those parts are replaceable. Probably fairly economical to replace if you are doing it yourself, if you have to bring it to a shop you might want to compare the cost of a new trailer.

    Fiberglass Repair Boston Ma area

Fran's charged us $800 to repair a section of deck that was not a removable hatch, I would imagine a hatch cover that you can bring to his shop without the boat would be even easier. I know at the time he was saying how his materials costs was all over the place and changing every day. He has...

Wanted, Trailer for GW 330 express.

I was looking at AllStar Trailers in Florida but shipping it to New England made it little different to a local Load-Rite. If you could do local pickup their prices were good. Looks like their website is down right now though

Any Experience with Catalano & Sons in CT

As an update, we did go down and look at the boat. Phil was great and they seemed like a great dealer that really cares about their customers. We were not ready to make an offer on the boat we saw, but we will defiantly be keeping it in mind Andrew

CT Yamaha and Hull Survey Recommendations

Can anyone recommend a Yamaha and hull surveyor in CT? I called a few and no-one seems to do both. I would like the mid sections of a pair of 225's scoped and a structural hull survey done. I have not looked at the boat yet but I am hoping to get an idea on a timeline and their process...

Any Experience with Catalano & Sons in CT

Boat is a 2001 with 2004 F225's. In my opinion all Yamaha's have potential corrosion issues, I had 2007 F150's that were shot beyond repair and have seen posts of newer with issues still. I know not all of the motors are effected, but the dealers lack of even acknowledging the potential issue...
