Is that just regular fabric that you can pick up anywhere or is it thicker like what's on the cushions now? I've got some places on my cushions that need attention but haven't looked into material to fix it yet.

Those kind of cracks look like the top has taken a hit at sometime or another. Maybe backed into a low door header?? Doesn't look like normal stress cracking.

Is that a Pacific trailer?? Looks like their setup. You can re-wrap the strap while it's on the trailer, no problem. Be a better pull being straight in.

Mine are stored between trips in the winter since I trailer everywhere. Don't want them up going down the road or piled up in the cuddy while the boat is stored.

Surgery was minor on the auxiliary tank, maybe a 1/4" off each side with a belt sander. New tank dropped right in. You can zoom in on this pic and see the edges where I sanded it down.

I'm in for the final pics of the refit for sure. Will be impressive I'm sure.

I replaced both my tanks on my 228 with originals from FMT, Florida Marine Tanks. They were pricey but exact replacement for what I removed. You should be able to get the auxiliary tank specs from Grady Customer Service and check with a fabricator local to you.

Where I mounted mine is actually tucked in under the hardtop edge, can still access the walkway with no problem and tucked in on the inside so you don't hit your head on it coming out of the chair to get a rod when it goes off. I'm bringing boat home next weekend and I'll get some better pics.

It will be. It's great that you're aware of the normal options that are a plus to have. My '04 had pretty much all available options for the '04 model year, offered by Grady-White. Granted I've replaced a lot of them with new and updated pieces, but they were all there originally.

Definitely don't get discouraged. The 228 is a highly sought after boat. Keep looking. Great size and capability for most people. Easy to trailer without permits. My 228 actually found me. I was asking questions about them on here and one of our members reached out through private message and...

I store mine flat on a table in the basement with sheets in between each panel.

I added a couple of Taco's on my hardtop tubing for pulling planer boards on Lake Erie. They work well. Gets the rods up, out of the way, off the gunnels.
