Personal preference is Garmin, and many on the board will agree. Some will pipe up and say Furuno or Lowrance. You can get a refurb'ed Garmin 3206 for less than $800 from GetFeetWet...and they come with a full one year warranty from Garmin. I'd also check with Jim at By Owner...

Only downside is you will have to remove the livewell to get to that check valve. The good news is, while you have the livewell out, you can take care of the float switch, as well :D

No point in piling on Bama....he is in a little bit of a jam. If I recall, you bought the boat because it was traded in on another GW. I would pick up the phone now, call GW cust service, and let them know EXACTLY the facts of what is going on. They already know you as a previous GW owner...

After all, my number one requirement is that it be trailerable...we have a place in FL and family there as well, and travel to the GA coast / Hilton Head/ TN River, etc... I picked up the 180 because I like the small CC, but also because it was a really good deal....and my discretionary...

As I recall, the boat did have a fold-down motorwell door. It also had 2 lockers on each side, and they could be used for seating. Just checked the GW website and confirmed what's left of my memory....in fact here is the link for the 1984 brochure. '84 was the only year that the 170...

They only made the Tournament 170 for a year...was a shame too because it was a great boat. Ours had a Johnson 100 on it and it was a 38-39 mph boat....with that 115 you should see 40.

Is this the '01 at Crockers? I'd start in your range and see what happens....as far as performance numbers go, it looks to me like those HPDIs are a pretty nice setup on the Sailfish.
