Do you own a 192 Tournament?

My 192 was a 1998 and there are no scupper hoses. The scuppers are at deck level as I recall the water just drained out the back under the motor well. Then you had those brass tubes that drained the motor well. I replaced those around year 5 or 6 of the boats age.

    Superstitions

No banana hammocks, but I don't care if bananas are on the boat. lol. You know deep dropping or trolling those fish can smell a banana a mile away.

    Update on my boat herpes

The company is Hydro Craf and like I said they are a warranty place Seeles Outboard in Charleston uses for Grady repairs. A few folks highly recommended them to me. They are going to grind out and epoxy all the blisters. These are smaller than a tic tac but run in line from the bow to the...

    Kill Switch

I think the law is poorly written and said as much on THT. I tried to imagine a scenario where I would be ejected in my 228 with hard top especially since I stand when I am running offshore. If I am ejected from my boat there are bigger problems no kill switch will solve. now in my Carolina...

    Frying Pan Tower

Get a feel for the boat . Head 10 or 12 off ,if you already haven't and then as you get comfortable make the call. The key is to have the motor in top shape and go on a calm day. I bought a Garmin In Reach to compliment my EPIRB. Buy a sea tow or tow boat membership too. I would do it in a...

    Frying Pan Tower

I have seen video of the tower on their web cam . It looks pretty cool. Remind me of the distance again? I had a 192 with a Yamaha F150 and I recall my fuel tank being 50-60 gallons. The F150 sipped gas and we got nearly 4 miles per gallon . we would fish 20 miles off the east coast of Florida...

    Update on my boat herpes

Last week I took my boat to the glass guy in Goose Creek,SC per the recommendation of a couple buddies here. They actually do warranty repair work for Grady. Turns out my blistering issue is a linear strip from the bow to the stern on the port side . it gets a little wider at the stern but it's...

    Deposit on Canyon

I suppose the business owner can charge for that. Say you buy the boat and can't find a trailer and your boat is now taking up a slot in his dry stack ,that's a slot he can use to make revenue . Now is it just in the yard on stands? Seems to me if it is that scenario he can cut you some slack...

    Seadek on a 228?

Have you tried really nice footware? I suspect you have . I have had foot issues all my life since I was a toddler. lol. I either wear some nice cushioning Sperry's or keens. I have long thought about getting an antifatigue helm mat . I like the look of sea dek . it's nice but I heard here...

    "secret project"

I would love to see the return of 25-28 foot WAs. my gut says the world's largest dual console on the 45 canyon hull outfitted with 4 425s. It will be the 454 Sandbar . It will have 28 speakers and 6 subs. 16 underwater lights, a wet bar, with optional tiki hut , and enough seating in the bow...

    Towing a 1990 seafarer 228g

Hi Jack, I have had a lot of brake troubles. a big thing is no stainless calipers get hung up. The pistons seize and worse sometimes they drag causing excessive heat build up which gets transferred to the hubs and bearings. If the heat build up is beyond the wheel bearing grease drop point, the...

    Weight Distribution Hitch

You would need to have electric over hydraulic brakes for using a WD hitch. it stiffens the connection between the tow vehicle and trailer . your rv trailer has electric brakes where most boat trailers are hydraulic and the piston in the master cylinder is a surge activated system . this means...

    Towing a 1990 seafarer 228g

towing is easy. stopping is the hard part. you can call Owens Brothers in St. Pete and order yourself kodiak stainless brakes and rotors and get a coupler (surge piston) suitable for disc trailer brakes and probable get all 4 wheels done and the coupler for $1,500 or so? am guessing here . I...

Buying a used Grady White Tournament 192

I owned a 192. Great Boat and in some ways wish I could have kept it. 150 is the sweet spot for that boat. 100 will be under powered. Grady started using greenwood XL in 2000. Good luck in your search.

    Garmin- researching my upgrade options

Skunk, I bought the 943xsv or plus back in April. I really like it and looked at the 10 and 12 inch version of that series. I have 24xhd radar and a shoot thru hull m260 50/200 xducer which was on my 4208 GSD22 like you had as well. I am pleased with system and you could add the Garmin...

Looking To Move To Cape Cod

I have been to Cape Cod in the summer . it's pretty. I have no intentions of moving there ever, but I sometines wonder how is winter there? New England coastal communities are unique to me being a southern guy. We went to Maine several times as a family ,mainly Acadia area and then up to New...

I was born a poor black child. wait, wrong movie. I was born and raised in Florida..Florida natives rule! Rule what I don't know, but I have always loved the water. Dad had a 69 Thunderbird with 85 Rude before selling it in 72 as my younger sister always got sick boating. Brother introduced...
