    Anchor/Windlass Help

Thanks All.....I will be looking at the roller this weekend. I had the tilt style roller on another boat I owned and it worked well......might have to look at changing it also.

    Anchor/Windlass Help

Hello all I have a 24 offshore with a windlass.....windlass works great except that my Delta style anchor is too light to pull the 12 or 15 ft of chain I have on it out of the locker when I try to drop it. I have to go up on the bow and free it every time and anybody that has ever gone up on...

    Towing and transporting

Not trying to be funny but if the boat is all good I might consider running it up the Intracoastal Waterway at this time of year. Stay inside if it is a bit rough or run offshore on nice days.

Still having oil pump issues. HELP

I had a recurring alarm at higher RPMs on an older outboard I was running a while back. It turned out that there was a "teabag" filter on the pick up tube in my oil reservoir that was collapsing when the motor was calling for higher amounts of oil....it was fine at lower speeds. Changed the...

Anyone know what these keys are for?

Overhead and small padlock on cabin would be my guess.

Information on 1988 24 Offshore fuel tanks

I have run a few older Offshores and while I have not had your exact problem I have had a few different issues related to fuel tanks and hoses. First off I would absolutely lift the deck plates and inspect tanks and hoses. It is not a big deal to do and I have had corroded tanks leaking fuel...

    Transom Seat 282 Sailfish

I once had a question about a 1985 Offshore I was running and I called Grady directly.....got a guy on the phone who was part of the team that built the boat. He was happy to talk to me. It was great customer service.

I installed this for my wife....she always looked uncomfortable sitting in the seat by the helm. Now she will swing the back so she can sit facing forward while running and she faces back and watches the rods for me while trolling.

    2000 26ft grady

Have to learn how to use the trim tabs.....trim motors up to optimum performance and then gently apply tabs to correct any heel like you are describing....keyword....GENTLY. My 24 offshore is very sensitive to the tabs. You will have to adjust trim as sea/wind conditions change as well....like...

    The Dog is ready!

That hole was clogged on a Yamaha 250 I was running....a mechanic showed me how to take the tiniest drill bit I could find and gently twist it into the hole to clear it. Worked like a charm.

    Bennett trim tabs

Actually nothing .....thought maybe I was NOT doing something I should have......it just seemed to me that I was losing the pump after every second winter. I thought about taking the pump out each year and storing it somewhere inside over the winter. The boat was covered on the trailer with the...

    Bennett trim tabs

I don't mean to bash Bennett.....they have been the standard for a long time...they didn't get that way by putting out an inferior product.....and this problem does sound like a simple O ring. I just had a lot of trouble with the pump...I had to replace it every 2 or 3 years. I may have been...

    Bennett trim tabs

I had so many problems with my Bennett hydraulic trim tabs over the years that I replaced them with Lenco electric tabs and never looked back.
