Try Flushing one engine at a time and see if there is a change ... Mine are similar ( although old engines) but if flushed one at a time they’re fine...go figure

I put my pump in the bilge area stbd side near the hydraulic lines. My bilge is fairly dry so hopefully corrosion is manageable, a regular spray with lanolin should do the trick

I too get a small weeping on the back of the helm, the pump fittings basically. It seems to be on warm days and it’s on the bleed pipe and not the pressure pipes. To locate I soaked oil up with tissues and came back the next day.... I’ve recently repurged my lines due to autopilot install and...

Glacier you’re spot on, it is a Micks winch. Ugly as hell but it is perfect for the fishing we do here in South Australia...therefore a common site on most boats

I only fish at anchor, shifting spots regularly if there is no action. I had so many issues with the windlass causing the rope to twist, Frey, and the chain/rope slice got caught continuously....I even had to remove half the rope (tuck it to the side so it was not cut) so there was enough fall...

Skunkboat, by manual 1.7cu helm I take it that you have hydraulic steering ? Depending on your electronics you can simply get the autopilot kit (cable or hydraulic) no need for power steering as well.... https://www.lowrance.com/en-au/lowrance/type/autopilots/list/

I would say that this would be common practice in the industry, it’s not supposed to get wet but .... Ply is no different when it’s wet really ....

The bigger the better as long as you can fit 2 IMO.

I removed the old through-hull transducer and installed the structure scan in its place, it’s at the centre of the keel so perfect, the sonar transducer is installed as a shoot-through and is excellent.....no additional holes for me.
