Nice boat, thanks for the pics, love my marlin99 mine had a wet transom when I bought her because of that useless alloy strip, it does not seal the transom at all After some tlc she’s all good....

Like any boat the majority of the value is the motor, electronics and trailer....then look at the gel coat to see if she’s been looked after, check any inspection hatches and have a good look at the transom, pull down on the engine (when raised) to see if it’s soaked. Don’t have one personally...

You could make one up easy enough, shade cloth mesh material.... attach with press studs etc

Recently put them on my Marlin, made a heap of difference to holeshot, manoeuvring is tighter, has more torque/grip so doesn’ lag as much with trailing sea....fuel economy didn’t really change a lot and cruise speed is similar to the 19s as well. All up happy Chappy

I have a microfibre glove just for my clears so I know it is clean. I give them a wash with fresh water, let it dry and use Vuplex....it does a great job.

I have rain water getting in from somewhere but I cannot find the source unfortunately. I am convinced it is the cockpit floor as it has the largest surface area, maybe the Sikaflex has been affected by sun ? I have even plugged the scuppers and filled he cockpit with 20mm of water....waited...

GlacierBlaze I have read that tip somewhere and did try it and it helped. now I do two passes to ensure the Sikaflex fills the gap at full depth...

I haven’t used any of the boatlife products, it sounds like the Sikaflex I’m using is similar to life caulk ?

I end up removing hatches chasing water leaks actually, while I’m at it I check the tanks and give them a spray with anti corrosion crc. The Sikaflex is a pain to remove, I would think that it would seal very adequately. It does dry out somewhat though. I try not to use silicone at all.
