This is a copy of the wiring diagram for a 1990 Offshore. In this model the pump is located in the starboard stern behind the battery. These manuals are available on line at GW.

Don't see and reason it would not work for short periods. The GW livewell has a small drain hole at the base of drain pipe that constantly allows the water and fish waste to drain and be replaced with new water. I would guess you could do the same if your Coleman has a drain at the base.

The first thing to go on my head was the Groco switch. I would check to get a confirmation you have power to the switch. If the pump freezes and you switch it on mine woul blow the fuse instantly. That should help with trouble shooting the issue.

If it is just a round fitting and has no filter cage around it, it is most likely the head discharge. The two intakes for washdown and livewell would have oval fiiter or screen cages atorund them.

Tip before you remove the existing sender. I did not do this the first time I swapped one out. The senders have a tough pattern of bolts holes that are not symmetrical and it can be tough to figure how the bolt holes should be aligned. This is important to prevent stripping bolt holes.
