    Flushing a 4.2L Yamaha

I would just stay with the hose connection. It works fine and you see the water flushing through pee hole and lower unit.

Need small section of hull striping

I buy it from my GW dealer. They sell it by the foot. There are many different stripes depending on year so bring a photo of a piece of the stripe with you.

Can you name the different models?

Russ - the Grady White web site has catalogues by year and includes photos and specs of all models for the particular year boat you are looking for. You may want to down load a few to give you a detailed comparison of the models your are looking at. The best part they are free!

    Yamaha engine question

Worth a shot, any way you could borrow one before buying to see if it works?

    Yamaha engine question

Not an answer to your throttle question but a thought. I had F225's with 15 1/4 x 19 props. When I went to 4.2L f250's I had to change the props to 15 1/2 x 17 to get 5,800 RPMs. With the old props on the new engines I was only getting 4800 RPMs.

Hello from Texas - soon to be a GW owner

Great boat - you will definitely know it is behind your F150. Are you planning on an occasional trailering or will that be the primary way of using the boat. I would definitely check to see the engines have been checked for exhaust corrosion.

    Fresh Water Reservoir

GW dealers carry the shower head. The flow issues could be a leak, failing pump, clogged lines etc. To clean my tank, I usually run fresh water through it several times and then fill the tank and add a few cups of bleach. Run the water until the water/bleach starts to come out of the faucets...

I do not understand why Grady does not finish the transom as the OP is doing and glass it in and do away with the cap.

    Yamaha outboard advice

Not sure what year Freedom your looking at - The early ones had 350 hp max for 255 and 500 for 275. 2005 F225 -250 were very reliable engines but they did have the exhaust corrosion issues. It seems once the exhaust was replaced with the new material they were good to go. If you go for any...

Reupholstering all seats and coaming bolsters

I never tried this, but another owner tip was to buy low cut champion socks and they fit perfectly. They said the socks feel better than the rubber and they don't have that annoying shirt grab every time you walk by them!

    Yamaha repower questions

I went from 225's to 250's and there is a noticeable upgrade in power and speed although I have to admit the 225s were a very nice match for the boat. I'm not sure I would want another 100HP :) Interesting I have never seen a Sailfish with 600HP on them. I did see one advertised for sale last...

    Yamaha repower questions

Here is a copy of a quote that I got last year for 4.2 L engines. The difference between twin 225s and 250s was $1,200 or 600 per engine. This quote was for digital and electric shifting. Yamaha now has a mechanical option for repowering. It is a 4.2L engine but is much cheaper option using...
