    Sailfish 272 with waterlogged foam?

I looked at the picture again this morning and noticed the barnacles on second look too, barnacles all over would definitely slow it down and impact the performance

    Sailfish 272 with waterlogged foam?

I also do not think your boat is waterlogged and would first suspect fuel or engine issues. Ethanol in fuel sitting around in the engine or lines for 2 years may have turned gelatin, clogging something up, or eaten at fuel lines if there was water logging going on you would have other signs...

    Boat seesawing on mooring

Was thinking maybe a little more scope for your mooring line? Agree with chafe protection for your lines and maybe snubbers?

Newbie Purchasing a new Gulfstream 232

The issue with the gulf stream is the need for permits towing, and twin engines. Any GW model is a safe, stable build that is seaworthy. Find out the next boat show GW will be at and take a quick trip to see the different models in person

Newbie Purchasing a new Gulfstream 232

I’d recommend spending a bit more time on different models before pulling the trigger. As other mentioned each GW model has a slightly different purpose, ideal conditions, usability and features. What works well for one is not always best for others. You will want to see some of these...

General question on drilling through transom

I think ideally you drill, then coat the inside of the hole with epoxy, then if needed, redrill after it sets up. Then use sealant for the install. Tape around the fixture to keep the area clean, apply sealant so there is a little extruding and gets air bubbles out but not so tight to squeeze...

Buying a 2002 228 without trailer- Need trailer advise

if the ramp doesn’t have great slope, then rollers help. Also easier to paint the boat yourself (can move the boat slightly on the trailer)

Buying a 2002 228 without trailer- Need trailer advise

You will want dual axle. Generally GWs use bunks rather than rollers. You don’t want your 6k lb rig rolling off at the ramp. Lots of 228 owners that could give you specs here but you want to get your tongue weight right and balanced with the axles positioning. Are you looking used or new? Do you...

    Help Wanted Finding a 282

I would suggest Fbook marketplace too. I was skeptical until I started looking there and seeing postings that were not on Clist

    Help Wanted Finding a 282

I think you need to be watching nationwide (probably already are) and possibly consider expanding your search to some other similar models. I have seen more and more availability of quality boats for sale, prices are still high but I suspect they will come down within a year or two. There’s just...

    What HP Johnson is this?

Ok probably 150-200hp if it pushed an overnighter Looks a bit newer than this https://www.smalloutboards.com/j20081.htm Pretty similar to this evinrude from 94. (Johnson merged with evinrude at some point)...

    What HP Johnson is this?

I would guess anywhere from 115-150hp. Does it have 6 or 8 cylinders under the cowling? What size boat is it sitting on?

    2005 Tournament 205 Drain Issue?

Looks like the weight distribution of the boat is just preventing that last bit of water from getting into the drain? Seems like perhaps a small leak at the door? Did you have rain recently? Doesn’t seem to be water coming up from the drain, correct?
