Thanks those seem to be the typical brands. I’ll check what I have this weekend. I saw a couple of those helpful vids and saw some similars threads on tabs too. Appreciate your help

89 overnighter - slight listing to starboard

Have you put it in for the season yet? If it’s still on the hard you can probably do some diagnostics. Couple things - if there isn’t a spot of leakage below the waterline, it could be there’s a little intrusion from the top. Over time could cause water seeping in. I think the real damage could...

    Craig's List Seafarer

You definitely could be right... They didn’t white out the registration numbers on this one and looks like 2019 last sticker, so been sitting a year and a half which wouldn’t be too bad.

Mine came with a 4 blade prop on it for the ocean. Also came with a 3 blade for lake Tahoe (I don’t have the towing capacity to get it there) and another 3 blade spare prop

Trim tabs - gauge is broken

Hi there - the only thing that doesn’t work on my old overnighter is the gauge for the trim tabs - the trim tabs themselves work, just the gauge on the dashboard doesn’t work. This is also the first boat I’ve ever had with trim tabs, and I understand the overall concept but If anyone has advice...

    Newb!! I need help!

My ‘84 was $8500 with trailer that needs work. I added a kicker motor for $700. My trailer will need approx $2k to get up to par. Everything on the boat works - lights, bilge pump, etc. engine was redone new in ‘02 with 1300 hours when I got it. That’s in SF mind you, so more expensive than most...

    yamaha paint

You’ll want to prep the surface as best you can. Sand down to aluminum. Wipe with acetone. Use a good primer, I’ve used zinc chromate on aluminum. It’s been banned in many states, but I think I found it on Amazon or eBay cheap and someone shipped it to me.

Need a trailer for my Grady White Fisherman 209 21'

For that long of distance you’ll want dual axle with good quality stainless brakes like Kodiak brand. Assume you looking for a new trailer? I’d shop around and get a sense of lead-time - many manufacturers might take a few months with recent demand and supply chain issues. see recent thread...

My 1999 228g has wood trim problems

Teak wood is really hard wood and will withstand the elements, it just gets weathered after a couple years. I’m varnishing all the teak on my sailboat - takes a long time, but looks really nice and I don’t like halfassing things so I take the time to try to get a decent result. Might sound...

My 1999 228g has wood trim problems

Probably just not the best quality varnish, or not enough coats applied. Sun UV does the damage, but also humidity causes the teak to expand and shrink. ask locals at the dock the best varnish to use. I use epifanes referenced in the link below. 7-10 coats. Don’t skip the prep work to get a...
