    boat junk yards ?

Something tells me real estate in New Jersey isn’t cheap enough for boat junkyards. You should find some within driving distance though. I know there are a few in MA. Probably CT/RI as well. I’d imagine somewhere near Maryland too but don’t know for sure...

    Questions/concerns about possibly purchasing a 228 Seafarer...

You’re getting good feedback. Engine and lack of general maintenance is a red flag at that sticker price. here’s a helpful article on engine compression (ideally each within 10psi of each other)...

Rebuild 1988 Grady White Offshore Pulpit

You could make a mold with some clay or something and use like wax paper or double sided tape with the mold to reform a piece shaped to how you want it

Grady white took some hard hits

GWs are built tough, so like others said you probably felt it worse than the hull. A hull slapping down is still going to move the water under it. Take the lick as a lesson to treat your boat with a lot of care on the water. If you had passengers, they might not join you on the water next time...

    UGH........New Control Cables

If there ends up being a troublesome area that’s snagging the cable, I wonder if you could use a length of pvc tubing to help feed the cables through the tight area.

Grady white took some hard hits

When you say ‘took some hard hits’ what exactly does that mean? like rode it too hard over chop and the hull smashed down hard? You thought the boat was going to sink, but you haven’t looked at the hull yet? Did you get any water in the bilge to be concerned about while you rode it back to the...

    Newb!! I need help!

Not a bad price if everything is working. I have an ‘84 overnighter recently purchased. It’s a fun boat. If the transom has any issues with a rotten core, any cracks around the bolts where the engine connects to the hull, that could be problematic. What does the boat have for an engine? I’d ask...

Snap in Console cover for 208 Adventure

I’ve done a bunch of sunbrella projects for my sailboat. It’s not that hard once you get used to the sewing machine. Materials are pretty cheap. Just need a decent sewing machine and you want to get uv resistant thread. Check out the sailrite website and they will have a lot of information for DIY

    1990 Grady 252G Information

I’d have an open mind on it. Wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me probably. If it’s worrisome to you, go for the survey as insurance. ‘90 hull won’t be perfect but there’s many other boats with thinner glass than GW. Probably a better quality boat than many ‘90 hulls out there. If seller has...

    1990 Grady 252G Information

If price is reasonable that one issue probably wouldn’t hold me back. Meticulous owner goes a long way. Can always monitor it and fix yourself if becomes a real issue. If the exterior hull is good, transom/stringers are good, fuel tank isn’t leaking, and engine runs well, I’d ask for a water...
