    OX66 fuel leak?

2000 OX66 225hp. While working on the oil system I discovered gasoline spitting out of a hose barb with nothing attached. I cannot find an unattached hose. Can anyone tell me what this particular hose barb is attached to? Or what is attached to it? Sorry, most of the pictures I took this...

    Seacock valve

As far as locating the actual seacock, I assume that your boat is on a trailer. Just look under the boat, and see where the through hull strainer is. The seacock is right on top of that.

    Seacock valve

Look under the aft jump seats, and see if you see a round black knob, slightly smaller than a golf ball. If so, that knob is on top of a ss shaft that opens and closes the seacock by pushing and pulling.

    Worn Non-Skid???

Took a closer look at mine this weekend, same boat as Amamola, and I am more convinced than ever that it’s some sort of peel and stick strip. It is not granular at all, and really has no depth, and I don’t think that I could scrape off anything without going through to the gelcoat. You can see...

Need to add some rod holders

I have some 90° Lees rod holders, that I will eventually put in the transom on my SF228, which takes engine tilt out of the picture. I did the same on my 93 tournament, and they work out great for going under the low bridges in my neighborhood canal.

    Hull plugs

If you want them to do any good, in that small window of time that you may have in an emergency, you should match up your through hulls with the appropriate size plug ahead of time. Tape, or tie them to the hose attached to that through hull, and then the only thing you have to find is something...

    New bimini top suggestions

I agree that's high as hell. And when I said for about the same price on CL, I was referring to the $300-$400 in the link, not the custom quote.

    New bimini top suggestions

Skimming their site, I don't see where it says whether the bows are one piece, or three. Or what metal. At that price, aluminum for sure. If you want a top that doesn't flex and flap, you want one-piece bows, and preferably ss, or at least heavy wall alum. Do you have any other canvas? If so...

Exactly, SeanC. I couldn't find a similar image when I made my post.

    Worn Non-Skid???

I haven't paid any attention under the bow rail, I mostly see it on top of the cockpit gunnels. Looks like either they taped it off, applied some sort of adhesive, and a coat of grit, or maybe it is just a peel-and-stick strip? The non-skid on the decks is molded in.

    Worn Non-Skid???

I think that it probably is factory, looks like what is on my 2000. I have been seeing it, but not really focusing on it yet, as I have other projects. I haven't noticed any chipping away, mostly just wondering how to treat it, to make it easier to keep clean, as it seems to attract stains.

    Relocating primer balls

On my 2000 Seafarer, the primer bulb is in the compartment under the port aft jump seat, where the battery and the oil tank are. I have a bracket, so no splashwell, but it can be located farther from the motor. Mine is 6-7 feet from the motor.

    Aft bilge pump replacement

It all depends on accessability. Easiest way is to replace with the same model, then you can just pop the motor off, reconnect the wires and the hose, and use the same base already in the boat. Some you just have to unscrew the motor cartridge, screw in a replacement motor, and connect the...

    Center of gravity

“...but for now, that will at least keep the tabs from being broken if they are not fully trimmed when going in.” Sorry, I took “going in” to mean, going into the water, or unloading.

    Center of gravity

You usually damage your tabs loading onto the trailer, not unloading. Also, a lot of tabs set ups have auto retract, which raises the tabs when you turn the ignition key off. Does yours? Cutting your bunks off seems like a strange way to approach the question.

    Self bailing cockpit scuppers

Pictures from inside the boat would help. Does your boat not have any type of dam at the front of the motor well, to keep over wash off of the deck? Definitely sounds like a problem that has to be fixed, fishing Long Island sound at night, before the water gets any colder.

2 questions about reenforcing the rod holders

If you want to do it right, the pot hauler should come through the gunnel, and be bolted to the deck. That takes all the torque off the gunnel.
