Does anyone know why GW puts those rubber ends on the PVC pipes that screw into the live wells. I always have a heck of a time getting them to screw in and stay straight. I was thingking of making a new one with a PVC solid end(If I could find threads that matched) that would screw in and seal...
I had a 2004 Gufstream and remember toying with the idea of adding the 350 when it first cam out. The dealer told me the stern could not handle the torque that was delivered by that monster engine. The was a transom redesign to accomodate the big engines on later models of GW line.
Great looking boat - A bit off topic but I really think GW made a mistake geting rid of the moded on strern seat . That fold down seat on the new model does not look comfortable and IMO chealpens the look of the boat.
My first GW was a 1985 22 ft Seafarer. I sold it in 2004 whe I purchased a Gulfstream. I recall in 2002 I was launching for the season and someone asked at the ramp if it was a new boat!. Per the previous post it takes a lot of care and maintenance to keep them looking good but if you do they...
I have a 2004 282 and we have the molded in stern seat. That seat was a big plus for me, I do not like the fold down seat. I was also looking at a 2005 when shopping for my current boat and the 05 had the fold down seat.
I own a Sailfish and love it. Traded up from a seafarer to a gulfstream to the sailfish. Of cours you know it's either the Marlin or Express next. I can't say I have ever been on a 265 but I do like the layout of the cockpit. Intersting ther was a 265 right beside mine in April when I was doing...
I was having some work dne on my Furuno Navnet r last week and the tech asked me if I had ever considered an $900 upgrade that would overlay the radar targets onto the GPS plotter. He said it was necessary if you were ever going to consider auto pilot. Does any one have this option and do you...
I just got a Honda generator 2 weeks ago. The vibration is minimal - I have it sitting on the outside of stern with a bungeee strap attached when using it. When traveling I keep it under the forward sleeping area where the table would be set up if in use. Other that that I do not leave it on the...
On a 282 Sailfish I get about 1.5 to 1.7. The boat in my opinion has more than enough power with F225s. I have no noticable difference with a full load and crew in terms of power, Gas ticks up a little with a full boat
I have a noise at low idle that I could best describe as a squeaky pulley. It is sporadic and sometimes I dont hear it for weeks. I described it to my dealer last fall and he knew what it was right away.
he said it is a miinor fix and the best time to do it was when replacing the water pumps...
Yes by AC I meant no air conditioning. I have the generator connected to my shore power cable. It connects through a pigtail. Regular 3 prong plug to the generator and the other end of the pigtail accepts my shorepower cable.
Not sure about the 30 amp comment, I'll check this weekend
Just got a new Honda 2000 generator for the boat. I had read a lot of posts about many getting the reverse polarity light on so I was a little concerned about getting one. Tried it out over the weekend and it ran perfect and handled eveything with ease. NO AC. The electric panel showed no...
The 36 Foot CC is now on the site. Comes with AC, microwave and lounge area, flat screen tv - very different for center consoles I'm used to although I hae to admit I never paid 400K for one either. (assuming thats the price range)
I had the same problem twice. The first time it was the screens as mentioned above, the second time I had a eel get into the pipes through a bent I take cover. Took forever to figure it out. Hope it is just the screen filter they do get gross. One reason I do not drink the fresh water on the...
