    Vantage Ceramic Coating

What does this magic coating do? What does the warranty cover it for? How long does it last? How often do you have to re-do it? On my AwlGrip AwlCraft 2000 paint they have a special wash and a no-wax sealer. Awlcare is a protective polymer sealer, formulated to protect Awlgrip, Awlcraft 2000...

    265 first ocean run

I doubt its the valve unless its dirty or clogged. Next time out run the port side motor off the aft aux tank. See if it happens again. I have seen fuel hoses separate fro the outer jacket and collapse under vacuum closing off flow. If that's the case change all the fuel lines back to the valve.

    265 first ocean run

How do you know how much fuel you have in each tank? How were the valves configured when it stalled? Which engine on which tank. What valve did you switch? Why do you think it's a bad valve? Just because the gauge says you have fuel doesn't mean you really have fuel. Sending units go bad...

    Bimini 306 Tow

I had a bass boat and a Dodge Ram tow vehicle years ago. Fished Smith Mountain Lake. Power generating lake and water levels fluctuated throughout the day so ramps were steep. First incident was a pre-mature launch 20 feet short of the water. Only happened once. Pushed the boat in and went...

    Low battery voltage

SALTYONE - Simplify the solutions. Test 1/2/both switches for both engines in all positions. Make sure all battery lugs are tight. Turn charger and batter switch to off and report battery voltages (12.8 VDC is right with charges off.). If it's that solid a problem it easy to diagnose.

Possible rotted tank or rotted fill hose.

Based on the age of the boat if the tank hasn't been replaced you should consider it. Take a look to see how difficult it would be to remove the tank. And be very careful with all that fuel around. You use an automotive smoke test to pressurize system...

    Fuel sender ohms

The right side of the fuel management gauge is fuel level. 8 bars. If you have two tanks there is a main/aux switch. The gauge is “debounced” so it takes a few seconds to add or subtract bars when switching tanks. Easier to turn ignition off/on for quicker reading. No need to push buttons. Fuel...

    Fuel tank install

Ask if they are still using aluminum tanks. What do/did they use? Ask about the hold down blocks too. There may not be a single best answer. 5200 may be the best choice but I can't see GW using it in production (too messey!).

    Fuel tank install

Wasn't directed at anyone in particular. I'me considering replacing my fuel tanks this year. Been thru a number of posts that replaced tanks and their recommendations. From what I remember my tanks have neoprene strips. I read not to use neoprene. Others use plastic strips. I honestly don't know...

Mickey - Problem with the internet and "experts" that you come across is that you will get numerous opinions. There is no resume attached to the poster. They could be experts or blowhards with no experience. Your challenge is to sort out the ones that are the probable answer and those that are...

I wouldn't shim the tank for a 1/4" pitch. Tank angle will be affected more by how the weight is distributed. When you are really low on fuel you need to keep the bow up. This was me earlier in the year. I didn't get stranded but lesson learned...

    Fuel tank install

If you have a decent table saw and a drill press you should be able to make them. McMaster would have it but you may be able to order HDPE stock on Amazon or find a plastic supply house online. I'm no expert on how the strips should be prepped or attached to the tank. This is a little Vodo...

    Wash down hose suggestions

You may want to look a a short collapsable hose "As Seen ON TV". They work well but don't last more than a season. Put quick connects on it and store in anchor locker. We use it on the 56' "Nasty Habit" to wash the boat down as we clear the inlet. No soap - it removes the wax. I use a slinky...
