    line/terminal tackle set up

Most of the fishing on my boat is in Florida in the winter. Primarly sailfishing outside the reef. I have TLD15's on Connley Blue/Gold Kingfish 20-50# rods. The reels are backed with 500 yards of 50lb PowerPro and 100 yards of Suffix yellow mono top shot. Braid gives me the line capacity and...

    Core Replacement Guide?

I did the deck core replacement on my 268 Islander. Mine was done with 1/2" Coosa composite material (like a plywood sheet). West System epoxy. 3M 4000 caulk. Read this thread thru to see how it was done. https://www.greatgrady.com/threads/repairing-fuel-tank-deck-hatch-coring.30913/ There are...

    EVA Decking on the cheap

I think it looks good. I would only do the cockpit as you did. Cockpit takes a beating. Helm and walkway to bow don't get worn. I started painting my boat last year. I'll do the gunnels down to the diamond non-skid and leave it at that. I'm pleased with the look so far. Unsure what I'll do...

    Hardtop Replacement 1999 Marlin 300

Finding a hardtop for 24yo boat is usually a dead end. At least as NOS. Used - forget about it - they are in bad shape. I'm in NJ. Who are you looking at? I refinished my old 25yo hardtop. Came out great. Could not get anyone to do it. Did it myself.

I converted mine to 12VDC/120VAC. Pretty easy and inexpensive to do. https://www.greatgrady.com/threads/converting-refrigerator-from-dc-to-ac-dc.31742/#post-210714

Bahamas Trip - SD Marine is Bimini Bound

I have seen posts from member interested in a trip to the Bahamas with a group of boats. It's a great way for small boats to safely cross the Gulfstream and experience Bimini and other parts of the Bahamas. I'm only in FL Keys in the Winter. I use this marina to put my boat in/out. They sent me...

Garmin Navionics+ and Garmin Navionics Vision+ Sale

Maybe Bluechart g3 Vision. Garmin bought Navionics around that time. They merged the Navionics data with Bluechart. The look is a little different. Garmin is moving away from Bluechart to Garmin Navionics+ and Vision+ and shipping most chart plotters with these charts.

For someone who doesn't consider themselves a techie you did good! This Active Captain chart loading is a mystery - Garmin doesn't tell you what is going on. FYI - You can still download charts with Active Captain after your subscription expires. You just don't get any of the updates. For us...

    265 Express Deck Removed

The right side is a little wet but not too bad. The deck screws are the source of the water. Make sure you caulk it well. Clean the deck ports and lube o-rings with silicone gel (Harbor Freight). I would pull the rings out and re-caulk them with 3M4000. The rings come loose and leak. You need a...

    265 Express Deck Removed

What does the underside of the hatch look like? Is it wet? When the hatches fill with water they leak plywood glue out on the tanks. I agree with SkunkBoat the black is mold. The label, the paint the tanks look OEM to me.

You are doing everything right. Let’s go over a few things. If you go to AC Boat Apps > Helm you see both units and can work them ok? You should have only one microSD card in the system. Take the other one out if you haven’t done so. I have found that download charts and uploading works best...

I have seen this also. Seems better to do one region and let it upload and validate. Don't try to do too much. Mine was predictable (after doing this several time last week and this weekend!). PITA!

When download finished on the iPad you need to switch network from the internet to the boat's wifi. This will upload charts and verify them. This is an hour plus! You can watch it happen on the unit on the Active Captain screen. This should have installed the charts on your units. Charts...

What I would do is go to Active Captain (AC), select charts on the bottom of the screen, zoom to a large area and delete all or just try Delete All. Make sure you are connected to the internet. When all charts are deleted go to Download Charts and select an the area you want. A little bigger is...

    AWL GRIP comparable colors

I painted my boat last year with AwlCraft 2000. This is a sandable and re-finishable paint that I would recommend you use. Must be sprayed. I documented most of the re-paint in this thread. https://www.greatgrady.com/threads/gemlux-deluxe-outrigger-bases.34551/page-2#post-240797 I had a...

I have Active Captain setup and did use it to update the software on both units. Good. You will have to create the SD card from the download. Not sure if Active Captain can do it directly. Follow Garmin's instructions. Both units will be connected using a network cable. Correct. So it sounds...

Rob - These are on sale direct from Garmin. Not sure for how long. The subscription is for a year and includes all chart updates. After a year the charts still work but you don't get the navigational changes, etc. For most recreational guys you don't need to renew your subscription. Built-in...
