New Guy thinking about buying a Gulfstream

not trying to sell you on twins. but, my boat measured 28+ feet LOA stem to stern. definitely concur with sea trialing a single. ron

    Diesel Heater?

obvious thought is making sure it can be installed safely. i remember that MB had a diesel heater in some of their European cars (work associates had it). it was not permitted in the USA. good luck, ron

New Guy thinking about buying a Gulfstream

owned a 2002 with twin f200's (the old heavy ones) until 2009. can't add anymore to the above other than endorsing twins. really helps the close quarter handling. someone mentioned trailering. it's a 9'3" beam so you need to factor permits possibility. good luck, you'll love it. ron

Used Marlin Sea Trial handling & Fisher Panda Generator

can't speak to the genset, but i haven't been on ANY boat that didn't have a significant reaction to a broadside wave. i almost tossed my father when i was a young teenager. i don't know what "stiff" means to you. hydraulic should be smooth, but you are still turning the engines. if trim...

    starboard battery constantly dies

don't bother. i had 5212's. at some point in the past a software update caused the sonar voltage readout to go sideways. mine was about 1/2 volt or so low. ron

Yamaha Water in Engine ....indicator light back on

looks like the o-ring is there, but you need to look at it from the side. the o-ring is "in" the cap's threads.

Yamaha Water in Engine ....indicator light back on

Yamaha Water in Engine ....indicator light back on

not sure what is used currently, but my '02 gulfstream and '09 330 had o-rings on the caps. they do age. good luck, ron

    starboard battery constantly dies

one other thing. if you leave the charger on constantly it could boil your battery if it is not operating properly. i myself only use the charger when i am on the boat, and my batteries are well maintained. ron

    starboard battery constantly dies

a few trouble shooting ideas. 1. id all circuits on the starboard battery. 2. ensure battery switches are all off 3. turn off main breaker on battery switch panel (and windlass if there is one) 4. make sure red button kill switch on thruster is off at this point only constant feeds should be in...

    Trolling + CO Poison???

from what i've read, boating and CO are a big issue. you can probably find articles in the Boat US mag. transom riding on big boats with seating areas is an issue they had focused on. we always make sure of good airflow when travelling at low speed. you might want to pickup a good battery...

cant add anything but to say the bilge interiors of my '02 gulfstream and '09 330 were gray. they were not GW cream color. good luck, ron

    335 Express Grady White, 2005

you'll have to ask the dealer (or prop specialist). mine did run pretty much on point to the Yamaha perf bulletin.

    335 Express Grady White, 2005

can't help with those, but i put XL4s on my 2009 with F350s. virtually no ventilation, increased bite, and stable mpg over a wide rpm range. i lost about 3-4 mpn on top end, but i don't do top end. good luck, ron
