    Restoring the fish box lids

Nice work for sure! I redid mine a few years back on the transom lids. Came out great. One point of reference for others is you can purchase your gelcoat from Grady through dealer. Was reasonable priced compared to other suppliers. Match is perfect. Have stored gelcoat in Mason jars as I...

Grady White 275 Repowered with G2's

Love hearing about these new G2's. Keep us posted on how they are doing from time to time. That 2.5mpg is impressive at 33mph if I am reading it right. Tom, haven't heard from you in a while in regards to how yours are doing?

    258 cabin door holding strap

I had the clear vinyl strap and eventually it broke down. I went this route and it works well so far. Just used some nylon webbing laying around that was heavy duty and added snap. The screw will allow you to adjust the tension so you can get it where it is taught.

    repower time

Hi Tom, was curious on how the Etec's are doing? Maybe I missed a post somewhere, but this is the last one I could find since last year. How many hours? Any issues and are you still happy with them?

    Broken Windshield

I did originally go to grady dealer, but only option was to send windshield to a company in Florida or try a local glass shop. I guess one this old is not supported by the factory.

    Sailfish Cabin Rod Storage

The rods are ball bungee'd together in sets of 4. Then I wrap another ball bungee around a screw in the top of the tackle center. You might be able to see this if you zoom in.

    Wiper Fluid Reservoir and Pump?

I installed a Marinco 33505 Windshield Washer kit with the AFI Deluxe Wiper arms and it came out great! I had a spare switch not being used at the helm that I use to energize the motor. Only issue I had originally was the bracket that the tank hangs on cuts into the container over time and it...

    Sailfish Cabin Rod Storage

I came up with a different approach to get more in the cabin. Was able to get my 8 trolling rods in a vertical position with a PVC platform and hold them down with bungees. Works great all season.

    Broken Windshield

Thanks folks. I finally got the glass replaced with a glass shop down in Morehead City. First time they forgot to include the curve. It looks flat but has a slight bend. That was the first 3 weeks to get the glass. Then they re-ordered and put a rush on it and got it done in about 1.5 weeks. So...

    Broken Windshield

Hi folks, trying to to right by moving boat inland today from Hurricane Matthew harms, I took a rock in the windshield and shattered my front port side glass! Now I need to find the options for repair. Has anyone gone through this before? What were your options? I have contacted my...

    Once Painted, Always Painted?

I sanded off my bottom paint then re-gelcoated the entire bottom and it looks like a new boat. Very happy with the results after 4 years now. I trailer my bot. I just could not stand the rough bottom paint.

    Sailfish Head

I had to rebuild mine back when I purchased the boat a little over 4 years ago. Not a hard job and didn't think it was anything anyone can't do. One thing to try is this: Spray some WD40 down the shaft where you pump to bring in water or push it out. Mine was somewhat seized up last year, and...

    BOOM !

I had the same experience. Tire completely separated on the spare. It was not even 2 years old. Carlisle's were a problem for me. Had several blow outs over periods of a few years and after the spare went on it's own, that told me to switch out. Went over to Maxxis tires and never had any issue...

    Sea Dek

I would like to put the seadeck on my full swim platform, but have some concerns with it. 1. The grooves that run entire width will not allow the seadeck to fill so water and grime will get underneath these channels. Not a good thing. 2. The engine harness hoses will rub on the seadeck and...

    Livewell Conversion Kit?

Does anyone know if these Rule Livewell pumps have a backflow preventor? Thinking that when the pump is running and you have a washdown connected to it, the washdown will start pulling water from the livewell pump and cause a reverse flow from the livewell....???

Deck drain hose & thru hull replacement

Feel your pain Fishbust. I was fortuate on my model as i was able to disassembled the transom and get in there easily enough. Some of these models seem to require a monkey to get down in there!

    Hardtop Pipe Size

I tried to search for where I got them and part number, but can't seem to find it as it was near 4 years ago. Looks like a couple different one's that are candidates to fit and are adjustable. The link I sent is the most likely candidate that I purchased. I just did a search on Google and...

    Grady Warranty 1999 Sailfish

I had similar as well, but also not to the extent you have. I read where this is due to the water on bottom edge freezes in the winter and expands the gelcoat then it chips off. I noticed on the bottom edge all around, it appears where Grady ground it smooth and even from the mold, but did not...
