Looks Like I'm the Newest Member to the Club-Transom Restoration Begins

What was the HP rating on the originals. I ask because if you went up in horse power and with the added weight of 4 strokes, the transom may not have been strong enough. In the photo it looks a bit thin but it's hard to tell for sure.

    Through hull drain fittings

Some of the somewhat below and somewhat above the water line thrus were bronze with a chrome plated face. You might think they are stainless but they aren't. The first picture looks to me like plastic with a chrome cover but the photo is pretty fuzzy and hard to see detail

HPDI 150 Help, RPMs Low (Fixed, Maybe!)

just check for spark. there are several ways to do so but a spark checker is the easiest. Other way is to pull boot, insert a screwdriver and hold the shaft of the driver close to metal on the motor. You should see and maybe hear the spark. Try this method on another cylinder to see how a good...

    Need binnacle

I see a model 67200J22 000 on Boats.net. It says it ships in 2-3 days. Coat is about $1200. I am not sure if that is the model you need, but it should work for a DF250 single application

What motors were mounted originally and what hp are the new motors?

Question about buying a GW 228 seafarer with a 225 Yamaha

I wasn't aware that the exhaust stack corrosion issue was a problem for those earlier model years. In the past I would be leery of 2005 thru late 2007 model years. Is that not the case?

Adventure 20 access to middle bilge

Does it have a deck lid panel that can be removed to remove the tank? I noticed that at some point in time that panel was eliminated but was reintroduced in newer model years up to present year. I don't know when those changes were made

HPDI 150 Help, RPMs Low (Fixed, Maybe!)

The OS s and HDPI are different in the fuel area. The HDPI runs about 700 psi after the initial startup. The OX motors have a fuel rail pressure in the 30ish range for the 150. That motor has a mechanical regulator. If there is a screen and it gets clogged, pressure at low speed may be fine but...

    Gulfstream 232 repower

Display definitely (6YC) I have no experience with the electric steering but I would opt for digital throttle and shift. I don't know offhand if you can get digital shift and throttle without electric steering.

HPDI 150 Help, RPMs Low (Fixed, Maybe!)

What does 'over timing motor' mean? If you can turn off the spark one cylinder at a time, you should try that. Killing a cylinder at speed ( around 2000 revs) should be noticeable. If there is no change, swap the coil, plug wire and plug from the opposite cylinder to see jr the problem moves...

add ski pylon/tow ring to 235?

I second the fact that pylons are not meant for tubes. A simple bridle attached to the aft tow rings is what is recommended. A bridle will work for towables or skis. Here is an example https://www.wholesalemarine.com/airhead-self-centering-boat-tow-harness/ This is the Grady pylon option

add ski pylon/tow ring to 235?

You didn't say what year but looking at the option on the Grady site, it looks like it might not be too difficult. https://www.gradywhite.com/build/builder-steps/?p=6099#view-1

Clean your own boat? Try this.

I try not to let blood sit and dry. It's best to rinse off as quickly as practical. A waxed deck is also a lot easier to keep clean. I really like Garry's wax for the deck. Apply it as directed and it 'dries' nicely and once dry, it is not slippery. During the recommended application though, you...

Clean your own boat? Try this.

If it keeps whitening after use, it may contain chlorine or similar bleach. Chlorine bleach can yellow gelcoat.

    Is this to low ?

Trapper, On my 208 the batteries are oriented parallel to the keel. I think that is what you are asking when referring to bow to stern lengthwise. They are size 24s. I don't think 27s would fit. My batteries are sealed, flooded type. If they weren't sealed I had to add water, I might be able to...

Adventure 20 access to middle bilge

Looking at the picture of Paul_A's deck, i see that my deck is different and perhaps so is Mark's. My 208 does not have a deck panel over the gas tank. To remove the tank, you have to cut the deck. The tank is poly, not aluminum and I guess Grady figured that it would never need to re replaced...

    Is this to low ?

Does it actually 'spin' slower at startup or does it just take time to get the water flowing? The later case is normal since the pump may need to prime. You might also try an experiment; open the fresh water nozzle before powering the pump the first time. I am curious what you see and or hear
