Toe In or Toe Out for Twin Engine Applications

Just to make things a bit murkier, there is a lot of confusion on what is toe in and what is toe out. Most folks state that if the output shaft to output shaft measurement is less than the engine spacing, the motors are toed in. In reality, the motors are toed out. It works like this, stand...

    268 repower Suzuki 300

I am a bit surprised that you had to option such a drop in pitch. I can understand the improvement in bottom end performance I guess but would not expect an increase in WOT speed. What were the WOT revs on the yami and what do you get on the zuke with the new prop? Did you consider or try a 4...

    Question on how to troubleshoot

Maybe. Sometimes a loose spade connector is the issue when combined with the normal oxidation that happens over time. More often, that spade connector has gotten loose due to age, expansion/contraction etc. Pulling it off and putting it back on may help for a while but often a problem will...

Update: Leak in Head Discharge Line. West Marine Recommends Replacement with More Flexible Line

Good thinking. One hint, maybe. If you are planning on replaces several runs, do an inventory and length estimate of each size and type (fuel, bilge, fresh water, sanitation, etc). Group similar requirements together and maybe you cab buy hose in bulk. It may be less expensive but more...

    when stuff goes wrong

Boaters are supposed to monitor channel 16. Often they only monitor the local chat channel. Most don't use or know how to select dual channel scan. Morally and to an extent legally you are required to render assistance of course without putting yourself in danger. What you did was exactly...

    Overall length of Marlin

What limits the max length for the slip? The hull does not necessarily need to be completely 'covered' by dock.

Update: Leak in Head Discharge Line. West Marine Recommends Replacement with More Flexible Line

In general you should use sanitation rated hose. It will state that on the hose itself. Sanitation hose should also be smooth on the inside. Your sample doesn't look smooth. Here is an example of a hose...

    On board charger installation

In general, the location for the receptacle and the location for the charger should both be dry locations.

In my boat the drain line connects to the dash electronics box. If it get wet, the water drains down (in mine) to the deck

    battery sizes

Good point. The OP just needs to check if the model of the current tabs can be converted to electric actuators. I would suspect that most of the current wiring can be reused, I am not sure about the switch and possible indicators.

    bunk guides

How is your canvas top attached to the Bimini frame? Usually the cross supports slide through pockets and the canvas can't come off unless you disassemble the frame.

    battery sizes

Yes I believe the pump is in the starboard cabin locker but someone with a newer 208 should know for sure. The standard length hydraulic lines that come with the retrofit tab kit are not long enough. Yours of course will be way too short. You will have to order a longer set. Wiring is no big...

Yamaha square gauge backlight wiring question

I looked at a Yamaha rigging manual for 2011 which has all the gauge options and wiring diagrams and do not see any wires for backlighting.

    Original Equipment Captain Chair

There is a post somewhere recently where an owner found a company that had the replacement nylon slides. Try searching for slides or seat bushings.
