Trim tabs go down....but not up? Emblem glue

Hey Yall: I had a productive 3 days of fishing this past Thursday-Saturday down in my native Fla of the central Florida coast. We have a quite bit of dolphin in the freezer. I noticed an issue with my trim tabs and I did search here looking for solutions. I can deploy each tab and adjust them...

Rebuild or buy a new trailer

Not long after I asked this question I started poking around on the web and found a few places that for about $300 I can replace all.the running gear. Thanks for the tips especially the tip on how galvanized trailers corrode from the inside out. This will be my May project.

Rebuild or buy a new trailer

Hey Yall: I have a 16 foot Carolina Skiff with a 25 hp Yammy 4 stroke on it. I am doing some early season work on the trailer. It is a single axle galvanized South Sport Trailer with leaf springs. Both sets of springs are now fallen apart and the wheel bearings are in need of replacing. I have...

    Garmin Vision

I have the 4208 as well. I bought the inland lakes and rivers G2 charts. There is more detail especially the bathymetry. Navigation aids and such do not change. The 3 D thing seems it could be useful for bottom fishing. I plan on buying the southeast coastal set because of the ariel photos of...

Found! Saltwater Sportsman Grady-White 265 Express Review

Re: Found! Saltwater Sportsman Grady-White 265 Express Revie I have never been on one, but several folks at two different Grady dealers said she handled quirky in a following sea. I more or less took their word for it.

Found! Saltwater Sportsman Grady-White 265 Express Review

Re: Found! Saltwater Sportsman Grady-White 265 Express Revie I particularly like the base hull price of $55k without engines. I wonder if they brought her back today in production what she would cost new today? Too bad she has those quirky handeling characteristics. I would not mind owning...

    Garmin Digital Radar

Thanks for the info Capt Ed. I do not have my boat in saltwater enough to justify the switch to Raymarine for radar, so Garmin it will have to be. The model of the unit is the one you have. I will consider it.

    Garmin Digital Radar

Hey Yall: I have a Garmin 4208 with Garmins digital network. I have the GDS 22 digital sounder and was at West Marine and noticed an entry level digital 4 Kw radar by Garmin for $999. It has a 36 nm range and detects weather as well as surface contacts. I am intrigued about the unit for my...

    25 foot Grady White

The question is vague. My 22 footer Coast Guard plate says the limit is either 2,300 pounds or 8 persons. I could be off on the weight end of things here, but the person thing is accurate. How many people do or can you comfortably fish is another question all together. I suspect the capacity of...

Here we go again...maybe hi fuel costs

Yall: Dont laugh, but that jar idea, well in my house, it is real! The Admiral bought me this cool hand made pottery jar that says fishing fund on it. I take spare change and so forth and put money in it. There is a few hundred bucks in it right now. I suspect if I had my boat in a slip...

Here we go again...maybe hi fuel costs

Hey Guys (and Gals), It seems we are in another round of increasing fuel costs based largely on fear of the middle east and speculators. Anyway, as many know I am in the tourism biz and high fuel costs have directly impacted travel and tourism to the Smoky Mountains in a bad way. The result is...

    Abacos Trip suggestions

Rob, Thanks for the tips. After some thinking and talking to folks via the PM system here, I have switched my plans. I am saving the fee charged by the edgewater group and Coconut here is going over to the Abs in June but a week later and has graciously allowed us to join his group. I will be...

Thinking about a upgrade to a Grady..Thoughts, Opinions??

Re: Thinking about a upgrade to a Grady..Thoughts, Opinions? The Gulfy is a nice boat for sure. If you are in a position to choose berween the Gulf and 282 then sea trial both and then decide. I wish Grady would bring back the Islander. Since they ditched the 265 and the Islander there are not...

    GW Factory Tour

I have always wanted to tour the factory. My brother is an engineering professor at ECU and knows many of their engineers and is good friends with Burt in customer care. I tend to think with the economy many folks who are in the new boat buying mood are those who are not really effected by the...

    QUESTIONS--Towing a 208 w- a Grand Cherokee

Mocq, other than the Tundra, the new f150s would be my next choice in towing loads under 10,000 pounds. You are right it is about all that you say. The all disc brakes alone make a huge difference alone. I live in the mountains of western NC and I have used my 4 Runner with Toyota's iforce 4.7...
