Cover for entire boat with Hard Top

Peanut, here is where I ended up. I think I posted pics on another post so might find it with a search. This setup is great. Can get in and work all day and not have any issues with cover removal. Air flow is good also so no mildew. So far, since I am in the trees, no debris or wind issues with...

    Cabin bolster removal method?

Well, mystery solved. Brian, you were right. They did put screws in the crevice. Had to pull and stretch and have a strong flashlight to reveal the tiny hole in the upholstery where the screw went through. Once I could find the hole, I could then probe with a small screwdriver to find the screw...

    Cabin bolster removal method?

Hi Brian, yes, that is exactly the same as my setup. They are very very tight to the surface. I was thinking of trying to find some really thin piece of metal or something to try and push in between and slide like you mention. I have never seen any so tight before. They definately have a good...

Caulk Question on GE Silicone II choice

I have really been liking the fluid properties of the Bath series and the Almond color is spot on for the Grady! Getting ready to seal all the floor panels soon with it. Light color and silicone should hold up well in the sun I would think for many years. Not that hard to remove if it doesn't...

    Cabin bolster removal method?

Well, checked last night and the pleats are very neat and tight. No screws there. So, still can't figure it out. I pulled hard on some other areas and nothing even starts to move. They are very very tight. Ugh!

    Cabin bolster removal method?

Checked there by feel and didn't find anything, but will check it again closer. This time with a Flashlight and really look. Thanks.....

    Cabin bolster removal method?

Anyone have any ideas how the bolsters in the cabin are connected? I can't seem to find any screws, so assume they just slide on, but I have pulled up hard and they do not free up. I don't want to break them, so if I knew how they go on, can work it from there.

Thru hulls - 1997 Grady Adventure

Finally just finished replacing all thru hulls with Stainless Steel! Overall was somewhat difficult in some areas due to hoses so hard to get off, but in the end, very much worth the effort! Boat looks totally different with the SS showing! Now I have more confidence in that I will not sink due...

    25' Grady White Sailfish 1993

Chris, like Capt. Bill said, it is a great boat to have. Does lots of stuff very well. I love the layout and function! Search the forum and you will see good info on this model. Has to be my favorite layout and the cockpit is huge!

    Drain plug seized

Second that on the 4200! Just removed my drain plug to inspect. Sanded, polished it and rebedded with 4200. I think that is what the factory must use as it does come apart with some effort but is very strong. I redrilled new holes since one of the screws would not come out and broke off. No...

When is it time to replace gas tank?

Also, I used 5200 adhesive caulk with 1/4" PVC strips for the bottom instead of the rubber strips that were not secured and causing some of the corrosion and wear on the bottom of the tanks. These worked out perfectly when put back in and everything fit like needed.

When is it time to replace gas tank?

Just like cgmiller said, I pulled both my tanks. Cleaned up with degreaser and sanded down to alumunum to get rid of the original epoxy coating. In pitted areas, coated with Marine Tex. Wiped down with acetone, sanded Marinetex to smooth it somewhat, then wiped with acetone again. Then coated...

    Fuel tank question.

Sounds like Wilson is on the ball also! Good job! Removal of tanks in the Sailfish model I have is quite simple actually. Just removed the 2 floor panels and there they were. There was a divider 2X4 that kept them separated that was screwed into the stringers and easy to remove. The only pain...
