    sailfish power comparision

Ha, yeah....for sure. I do say though, normally I don't have to trim much, but she does lean left or right sometimes depending upon load or wind so almost always pushing one or the other up or down. But just a tad bit. Only time using a lot of tab is in rough seas, I put the nose into it to...

    sailfish power comparision

I would have assumed the 200hp is 200hp whether carb, injected or HPDI. I always thought the 2 strokes were all powerful in all cases. Doesn't make any sense to me unless it is a torque thing and block is got more displacement on HPDI vs older carbed motors? Anyway, this is a good post...

    sailfish power comparision

As far as tabs go, when mine are fully retracted, they are level with the hull bottom so already are an extension of the hull surface so to speak. I run the motors at mid trim which is equal to level with hull surface I think. When I run hard to see what I can get on top end, I trim the motors...

    HPDI ISSUES

Looks like some stay current might be causing some electolysis? Would definately replace all anode's. Not sure, think I saw some reference to it but there are also some internal anodes that help control corrosion as well and need periodic changing, especially for those staying on the water.

    My latest problem...

When I plug up my charger, I turn on the keys to Yamaha gauges and check voltage. They move upwards of 14 volts when charging. 13.5 + usually. Also, use a multi tester on batteries before you plug up. Should be 12+ volts, then plug up charger with voltmeter connected and watch the voltage start...

    Groco Sanitation Issue

I was running in from offshore for over an hour, so likely as the hull is raising/lowering in the seas, it might have been acting as a pump and pulling out the waste that way. I was running approx. 30 to 35mph on that day in 2-3' seas.

    Running on a single engine

I've got to try this again. I tried a couple of times just after I got the boat and did not have any luck. Don't remember what all I was trying though. Sounds like the trick is one motor out of water, the trim down and trim tabs down, then raise tabs eventually to see if it helps lift up and...

Mine takes off like a bat out of hell! Better be hanging on! Get right at 50 full trim and light load running on smooth water. Power with these motors on this boat is awsome. Can't imagine needing 225's.

Have batteries tested to rule out a shorted battery. Ensure all terminals are clean and tight. If you can twist the terminal with relative ease using a pair of pliers, they are loose enough to get some corrosion and make a weak connection. Check connection from battery to circuit breaker. Mine...

    What's your mileage?

Cruising in easy seas at 30mph, getting 1.7 to 1.8. Pushing into seas with bow down, as low as 1.5, 1.6ish. This is full fuel 200 gallons, full water and full load for offshore day.

    Groco Sanitation Issue

Just so you know, for my hull, the discharge is directly under the access hatch in floor in cabin just in front of the door to head. The thru hull is sitting on top of the 2X4 board in which the keel is resting on the trailer. So when the hull is running forward, the water rushing past the...

No idea about the paper but if you've ever noticed it seems to disintegrate pretty easily in normal situations.

    Groco Sanitation Issue

If both seacocks are open, when you run at a good speed, the vacuum forms at the thru hull and pulls the waste out automatically. I found this out when well offshore late last year and before running in tried to pump out and that is when I found pump was froze up. By time I got back to dock, I...

    Latch for Wall mounted stove?

Anyone know of a source or some other style replacement for the latch that secures the stove to the wall on the 25 Grady Sailfish? Seems mine broke this weekend likely due to age/stress. I have searched many sites but have not found anything that resembles this design, and really could not...

    New Replacement Seats

Picked them up from west marine. You might need the pedestals also as mine were worn out. Easy to bolt on the base and just slide over the pedestals.
