    New Replacement Seats

81Malibu, Yes, have used them last few weekends now and have to say, love them still! Haven't run offshore yet due to weather, but when I do, I am pretty sure they will resolve the numbtail issues from the previous seats!

Bow Pulpit Restoration and New Windlass Install

Yeah, that is the other option, but not wanting to drill more holes again. Mounted the stupid tensioner twice already! :jaw For now, I just put my safety rope back on to secure it. Only takes a second to release it,but I like the cable much more.

Bow Pulpit Restoration and New Windlass Install

I took a pic on a world cat this weekend that had the safety cable with quick connects and thought I had seen these short cables before, but was not able to find them online or in any of my many sales manuals for all the suppliers. Assume one would have to make one up. If we can get the admin to...

    New Replacement Seats

Well, one last project before winter was over was to find some seats that were more comfortable. I think I found the right ones. I found other posts where folks were getting the Tempress and have say, they are attactive and nicely build and padded. Padding on the front edge was most important as...

Bow Pulpit Restoration and New Windlass Install

Update. Was able to splash boat last weekend and use the windlass/anchor for first time. I bet I deployed/retreived 10 time over the course of the day to learn the behavior and habits of the system. Was worried the anchor would not hold as it is the 14# and not the 22# model. It held fine in...

Where to get replacement bow pulpit?

Not really sure as it was this way when I got it. But maybe due to dropping the anchor.

    Trailer Tires

Trailer tires are specially built to handle the unusual stresses and twisting that a truck tire does not experience so they highly discourage nontrailer rated tires. I have heard others say they think GY is not making them in china any longer but I can't confirm or deny. If you need to get a GY...

    Trailer Tires

I used GY Marathons on my previous trailer, but they were not made in China and I had no issues. On the Grady, being much heavier boat, I could only get the 15" tire in E rating from Maxxis. GY did not make a tire to carry the heavy load. So Maxxis I go and so far, after a couple of years, no...

Marine cooler vs using fish box

Depending upon type of trip...offshore run or cruising, I use cooler in cockpit on grip pad or store in one of the boxes. To get the drinks off/on the boat from fridge, just put them in a 5 gal bucket and makes easy transport back and forth. The cooler never slides when full of ice/drinks and...

    Battery charger recommendation

Agree with that as I was thinking same. Now I see some options. I also wonder if I can just put in a 3 way fitting in place of where you have the bait sentry pump and then install another bait blaster or equivalent type pump mounted to bulkhead to rid of worry about a special bracket. I mainly...

    Battery charger recommendation

Gotcha! How well does the bait sentry pump work out? Does the one inlet for both pumps allow enough volume to run both at same time? In other words, when running the livewell, does the washdown get enough water? This setup seems simple enough and I am tired of that Y-Valve!

Billfish33, curios with your photo. Sorry to hijack thread....Looks like you have a pump directly threaded on inlet of seacock valve and it goes somewhere, then it also feeds to another pump that goes somewhere? Been trying to figure out how to add a second pump and not have to flip the 3 way...

Getting ready to install my new fuel tank

Yeah, what Grog said as he gave me the idea on the dowel. I couldn't find a wooden dowel that big, so just used some PVC pipe laying around and it worked like a charm! My hose went through stringer, under deck forward a long way and then up to the fill. Once I got the old/new connected and taped...

Getting ready to install my new fuel tank

What I did was to cut a piece of PVC pipe, inserted in both old and new hose to connect them. Put in screws to secure to PVC and then pulled old out and new followed in it's place. Worked like a charm and was easy to replace. Now, connecting to fuel fills was a knightmare with one arm stretched...

    Battery charger recommendation

Not sure how to know if one can do that but I have been using mine all winter and I run the Stereo with sub woofer, lights at night, and run pumps for water, etc. and have not had any issue. Not sure the specs on how a charger can keep up with demand, but if demand is random, it does keep up no...

    Battery charger recommendation

Check out the new Minn Kota chargers. I got one last year and it is excellent and has received good ratings from folks that have them as well. I installed mine on the transom, just under the lift out box for easy access. It has done a great job maintaining the batteries.

Getting ready to install my new fuel tank

My 20' 1986 Renken I had to restore rotten stringers. When I pulled the tank in 2004ish, it had some deep pitting, but only in the areas where the rubber supports were touching the aluminum surface. I pulled my tanks on the Grady last year and after 20 years, same thing on them. But, there were...

Getting ready to install my new fuel tank

I used PVC board instead of wood. No rot and easy to work with. Can even glue up pieces together with PVC glue to make it thicker and I also used SS deck screws to ensure the glue did not fail down the road as well as used these screws to secure to stringers. Take some time to read Dale...
